it's in May, and the best thing is that our prom is on the 14th, and my birthday's on the 15th. ;) so it's safe to say I'll be partying it up like crazy at the after party. ;) CANADA IS SO WICKED. ♥ except for our government, it's the most pathetic thing. and southern Ontario isn't that great…if you want the picture book forests and lakes, go anywhere north of Toronto. :P
as long as the will is there, it's possible! and really, visiting the country can do wonders. There were people I went to Germany on an exchange with who spoke not a lick of German, and came back able to hold a good conversation. :)
favourite events is hard, I just love watching sports and cheering for my countries. but for winter, it's probably any skiing event and ice skating; for summer, it's synchronized swimming, diving, swimming, equestrian, and gymnastics. oh, and sometimes rowing, because it's pretty much the only summer sport Canada's good at, haha. you should try watching the Winter Olympics in February, though they're not quite as exciting as the Summer ones. They're in Vancouver this year~
Oh! That's doubly-exciting then! Don't part too hard now xD
Haha, is it? I'm pathetically ignorant of other countries' happenings xD I want to visit Canada for the big cities and the wilderness. Mainly the big cities though.
I'll probably start learning...something. I took two years of Spanish, so I might study that a bit more. Or French. And Japanese, eventually. I just know how hard Japanese is to learn. I really want to do an immersion program. <3
I think I'll like winter sports best. They have snowboarding, right? I love watching snowboarding. I'll definitely watch this time around.
more like non-happenings in Canada. our PM has prorogued Parliament for 2 months, meaning every member of parliament basically has a 2-month paid holiday. I have a bit of a rant about it here. well in that case, I can only recommend Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City, because that's where I've been, haha. all are nice. :)
ohh, Japanese! I have a friend who's learning that. It's a really cool language. an immersion program at uni? or an exchange?
That they do! actually, Canadian snowboarders have some kind of new technology that's supposed to enhance control. I didn't quite understand it, but it sure will make the Olympic interesting.
