Still with a chip-on-his-shoulder look, he agrees. - I've clearly gotten over the annoyingness of copying things lol. I can picture this look and I know it shouldn't but for some reason it makes me smile. A lot. In fact this whole story makes me so idiotically giddy.
“We’ve been together years, Kate. If I just wanted you in bed, you’d know it.” - I know I don't know your name but I'm thisclose to proposing to you after vomiting up my undying love for you. While I'm sure this is too soon and you may ban me from ever reviewing your work again I'm not all that sure I care. All I mean to say is that I love this line of dialogue so much.
“But I’ll say it again.” She hadn’t noticed past her own anger, but he’s equally furious. “Do me a favor,” he says, his words almost insultingly measured and deliberate, “and try not to pretend you can’t hear me.” He pauses, as if waiting for her full attention. "I love you.” - Amazing. This whole conversation is so so good. I wish I had better words for this but embarrassingly I do not.
The boundaries she’d thought protected her had in fact been starving her; she knows that now that she’s gorging herself. - love your wording here.
“Castle’s fixing the roof?” - Hearing Ryan say this in my head (and I totally hear him) made me laugh out loud.
The end made me swoon. So now that I've completely embarrassed myself with these three reviews I am looking forward (understatement) to reading more of your work. This was so what I needed tonight. Thank you!!
