Trying to fill in some gaps and bring everyone up to date, so please bear with me.
In December 2009 my paternal grandmother and last grandparent passed away. I was either not around or too young to remember any of my grandfathers. Grandma Jones was the one to whom I was closest.
Jeff and I were included in the ranks of people that Countrywide/Bank of America decided to screw around. Despite our best efforts, they decided in July 2010 to foreclose rather than work with us any. We did luck into a friend having a house available for rent that met our needs. We moved at the end of July/beginning of August in what seemed to be the hottest weekend of the year. LOL
I certainly hope not to have to move again for a long time.
In December 2010, Jeff went into the hospital with major water retention. They got it under control, but he needed to have double bypass heart surgery too. That has been a long road to recover even a semblance of normalcy back. It didn't help nearly as much as they hoped and he is currently unable to work at what he did before (diesel mechanic). He was able to get on Disability so that has helped, but is still less money than before. Still working to equalize out the money and the bills. It just takes time I think. There was some short term/long disability from his work insurance as well, but I'm curious as to what regulations allow them to count Disability/Social Security against the money they are supposed to provide. They aren't a government agency and it shouldn't affect their payout since they receive premiums for that service.
May 2011 my dad found out he had cancer. It had spread enough they said it was stage 4 and didn't think there was much to be done. He went through chemotherapy and it did assist his suppressed appetite some. Didn't really do anything for the cancer itself though. He had a bought of pneumonia in November and somehow managed to pull through that. The fight was lost on December 23rd. Sad to see him go but glad the suffering is over.
As you can see, it has been a rough past three years. I certainly hope this year is better because such things certainly wear on a person.
