More bits about writing. I am getting seriously excited about my writing classes next year, you have no idea. Hopefully, it won't even seem like work. Hehe. But I have to get through this semester first. All I really have to worry about is next week when over the period of three days, I have four papers, a presentation and a portfolio due. Gah. Besides that, I think I'll be just peachy.
I finished my challenge piece yesterday, but I haven't submitted it yet. I don't know how I feel about it. For a while, I thought I might have to sit this challenge out because I've been getting the feeling that my pieces have been missing the mark lately. At least to me, they feel a little unfinished in spots. And I know this one is. I actually took an idea I had for the villains challenge and then just wrote that same situation, but from a different point of view. Hehe. Still. I'm going to go over it again and try to add more to it tomorrow, because I know it's not as fully realized as it should be. I'll work on it. If I can't fix it by tomorrow, I'll just say screw it and submit it anyway. Hopefully others will tell me where I went wrong, if I went wrong at all. Then again, my perfectionism when it comes to writing might just be leaking through again. Eh.
I'm talking to my Classical Epics professor about doing something different for my final project. She's encouraging students to do what best suits them. So instead of just writing a boring old paper, I'm going to see if I could write a long story instead. I was thinking of tracing Andromache's journey from the fall of Troy until she ends up in that place that I don't remember the name of. I mean, she has to suffer through her husband being killed and descrated, her infant son thrown over the wall (poor Astyanax). Then she's captured by the Greeks and given as a prize to Neoptolemos (Achilles son) and taken away. I think writing that would be fascinating. Hopefully she'll let me do. Easiest grade I'll ever get.
Tomorrow I plan to get some work done if I can. We'll see. Going to Amy's soccer game (we consider it our duty to support our roomie) and then might hit the library. Eh. Still, only two more weeks of classes, one week of finals and then I'm done. Good, because my attention span decreases every day.... oooooo shiny!
