"Dwen The Hunter"
High Rubi-ka orbit: Rogue-Starship "Galaxia"
The beeping sound of a Com-call rings through the ships walls. A figure in a chair turns around. A short man, with an old dirty cowboy hat on, a young, handsome man with a slight beard. Non other than Anthony Star director of The Rogue-Star Mercenaries.
A female voice comes up through the echoes. "Captain Star, you have an incoming call from the surface."
"ahh, yes galaxia patch it through.” Anthony says in his thick country accent, propping his feet on the desk. A man appears on a screen that lays upon the Captain's desk...A fat man; looking in his early 40s, gray hair with a thick mustache.
"You bastard! You didn’t finish the f*&%ing job!" The man said angrily almost falling out of his already half-broken chair. "Calm down, its best for the heart old man..." Anthony says "Now what didn't we finish?" The man takes out a hankie and starts to wipe the huge sweat drops forming on his forehead.” Their was a man, I played you to terminate!" the man said. "The man from newland, the Clan bastard! REMEBER!"
"Oh right..." Anthony said clearly not knowing what the man was talking about.
"Get it done or it’s your ass Tony!” said The man. (clearly knowing how to push buttons, no one called Anthony Tony and got a subtle reaction.)
"Right...I'll send my most trusted hunter." Anthony promises and waves to the old fat man clicking a few buttons on his desk, the screen going blank.
"Galaxia" the captain says "Get Dwen in here..."
"Yes captain." The soothing calm female voice says.
A very tall opifex appears in the hall from Star's office walking slowly towards the door where Anthony waited.
The opifex lowers his head and walks into the doorway of the small office.
A slithery snake of a voice speaks "Yess Boss?"
"Ahh Dwen, so good to see you, you nasty critter! “Anthony said sarcastically.
"Ssssspare me your humor bossss, what do you want?"Dwen says putting on a long flowing cloak he had brought in from his chamber.
"Well, ole buddy theirs a man down in Newland that needs a good lesson taught to him, he's been messing with the wrong folks, and making some rather unfair accusations about our notum producers."
"Sssshut your blabber! Ready my probe and I’ll head down and teach this man this, lesson."Dwen yells.
"Alright, whatever you say...oh one more thing about this man..."Anthony begins to tell
"Ssssstop it! Give the orders to Galaxia!" Dwen yells grabbing his crossbow from his back and loading a bolt aiming it at the captain.
"Alright, ok. Galaxia ready a probe for this angry opifex, destination.... Newland desert." Anthony says into the Com on his desk.
"Shuttle bay E...." Anthony looks up to tell Dwen.
Dwen nods and makes his way to the bay. Walking with increasing speed loading bolt after bolt into his crossbow.
The hunter walks into the bay peering upon the spike shaped probe no bigger than a Kodiak.
"Sssson of a bitch..."Dwen walks to the cramped probe trying to fit his tall opifex frame into the probe.
Dwen fits inside his head smashed into the window. The ships bay opens and the probe launches off into space heading for Rubi-ka's surface.
The probe increases in speed going faster and faster as the nose of the probe gets red and orange, flames coming up from it, as it enters Rubi-ka's atmosphere. The probes long tail could be seen from a far as it neared the desert, slamming into the sand with great force making a small crater, the probe opens, gases shooting everywhere and the window opens.
Dwen jumps high into the air and begins to run with increased speed causing a dust storm behind him. He runs faster and faster east to Newland city. As he runs, he reaches his left hand to his right wrist punching a few buttons into the panel as the same soothing female voice says "Running.... nano program: Quickness" A green glow begins to raise from the tall opifex, the green flowing from his skin, raising into the air around him before returning instantly, the green making the veins in his bald head glow. His speed increases and kicks up sand into the air forming a huge dust storm behind him as he runs.
He soon gets to Newland city and enters the gate, slipping the cloak hood over his head, placing his crossbow under it. Dwen walks into the city slowly watching the people trading and forming groups around him. Men screaming from the mission booths as the people below scream back holding up they’re IDs hoping for work. Reaching under his cloak, Dwen presses a key code into his right wrist panel once again as the female voice says "Way Point set."
Dwen follows the waypoint to the west to a small shop and walks into the door as a small ding echoes through the store as he opens it.
A tall man in what looks to be black Steele ribbed armor, pops up behind the counter
"How may I help you stranger?" the man says "Iam looking for a man.... sssssome sssay he looksss like you..." dwen says reaching for his crossbow on his back.
"Is that right" the Solitus man says "and what business would you have with a man that looks like me?"
"Oh nothing just thisssss" Dwen screams! Reaching behind him quickly tearing off the cloak revealing his opifex body pasted with Flowers Tech armor.
The solitus peers up and says "not again."
He ducks below the counter as Dwen backs up unhooking his crossbow.
Suddenly, the man jumps up from behind the counter holding a full automatic Chemical Mausser!
The solitus shoots round after round into the store as Dwen ducks and flips his way around the bullets jumping so high he hits the ceiling and returns to the ground flat on his stomach. The windows begin to shatter the Mausser begins to spout fire from the barrel as the solitus screams "Eat Burst!" All the walls of the shop begin to fill with holes as the solitus unloads, the people outside running and screaming.
The mausser begins to click."F*&$ empty..." the solitus yells "well at least I got that opifex Son of a...."
Suddenly a bolt from Dwen's crossbow flies through the air, the man moves head dodging the bolt so fast it becomes a blur. "You ugly opi!" the solitus screams as Dwen loads another bolt.
"Hmmmm" the man says as he hits a few buttons on his wrist the words upon it reading: Running...
Nano program: Grid Surfer.
The man begins to shake, his hands glowing green he reaches down to his feet touching the tips of his toes, looking like he was stretching. The solitus looks up and stares at Dwen dodging a few more bolts, parts his lips and says "haha...."
Suddenly, the solitus feet begin to move running forward so fast he turns into a blur, a streak in time! A green glow follow his feet as he runs making a trail behind him, the man runs through Newland city, at such great speed, as he passes the people at the mission booths they all fly through the air, from the great green glowing cloud that follow the man, blowing them across the city!
"What the hell...."Dwen says tapping a few buttons on his wrist "Captain Star here, what do you want Dwen?" the wrist Com echoes. "Who the f&^% did you send me to kill!”Dwennn yells into his wrist. "Ahh, The mocker!" Anthony says laughing. "What?" dwen says? "The man, he's a fixer, faster than a wild mustang!" Anthony says.
"That’s jussst great." Dwen says tapping the same buttons.
"Running.Nano program..." the female voice says as Dwen walks from the mangled shop, about to fall down...
Dwen walks out as he hands begin to glow a red, people staring at him as he walks, in disbelief that he is still alive, he raises his hands to the Rubi-kan Sun shining brightly above the city and screams "Fists of Fire!” His hands explode into fireballs, burning so bright the people shield their eyes; he walks through the gate of the city and says, "Now where did he go?"Dwen looks around and notices a green glowing path in the sand west from the city."Hmmm" he says and takes off! Running with great speed, he realizes that his ship is not far from here, knowing the fixer saw the probe crash "Ahhh" he says to himself running over the hills of sand as the sun beats down upon him.
Dwen comes upon his ship and sees a figure propped up against the probe using it for shade, he runs up to the ship and begins to walk slowly towards it.
"So, that fat bastard sent a hunter to kill me for cutting him out of the goods...well I’ll use you as a message to him..."
Dwen remains silent, it was his way of preparing for battle, sizing up the fixer observing his every move looking for a weakness. The fixer clicks a few buttons on his wrist COM, staring at Dwen. "Made a big mistake...”the fixer says raising his arms to the sky.” Big mistake."Suddenly the fixer begins to shake once again, electrical bolts start to come from the ground moving around his body, his eyes begin to glow blue as the white bolts turn into blue reaching far up into the sky! Then, beams of light so huge you can see it from space comes down to the sand dunes were the fixer stood. As Dwen kneels down shielding his eyes from the huge beam of blue light he hears a faint voice from inside the beam say "Casting nano program...Grid armor MKIV...
The beam of light returns to the Rubi-kan sky in which it came the fixer still sparking from the program... he looks up at Dwen. The fixer covered in bluish crystal that were form fitting to his skin, they shined at the sun hit them, light running through the cracks in the armor. He stands and says, "Let's play...." Dwen gets up and throw his crossbow across the sandy terrain. He rips off the sleeves of his Flowers tech, Standing stiff he punches again and again, his fists blurring with fire, he jumps into the air his leg straightens for a solid kick and returns to the sand. He then nods and raises his fists to the fixer and says "Letssss."
The fixer starts to run, Dwen jumps into the air balling his fists and comes down into the sand, but the fixer is to fast and moves away from Dwen's attack. Dwen's face turns red with anger and jumps through the air again kicking and coming down onto the fixer, as his foot hits the fixer his head seems to take a ghostly form as Dwen's foot goes straight through him! The fixer laughs and begins to run again with great speed through the sand and over the dunes of the desert.
"Oh no you don’t, not this time!" dwen says and takes off with great speed as well.
They run side by side through the sands, Dwen behind the fixer trailing him, gaining.
The solitus opens fire into the sands shooting at Dwen the sand popping up into the opifex's face with every shot. Dwen jumps into the air doing a front flip and comes down upon the fixer again, knocking him off the dune. "Damn.... you have great skill opi"The fixer says as he lands and slides through the sand stopping at Dwen's feet where he stood. Dwen remains silent and balls his fist of fire preparing for a strike.” Not good enough!” The fixer yells hitting a few buttons on his wrist where his wrist COM once was.” Running...nano program...”
the COM says. Suddenly the fixer runs to a sand dune as a blue streak of light comes from his fists. Dwen's body stopping mid strike, stiff as a rock, he could not move, as the blue glowing go formed over his body.
The fixer hits a few buttons on his weapon, setting it to "burst mode" and looks up at Dwen grinning, opening fire the bullets begin to fly around Dwen as the sands around him fly into the air. Dwen tries to move, but fails, and is hit with one bullet after the other, after the other. The solitus shoots so fast the sands starts to catch fire. The nano program stops and Dwen falls to the ground bleeding.
"Next time, have the fat man do his dirty work..." The fixer walks over to Dwen and aims his Smoking weapon at his head.
Dwen smiles at the fixer.
"What are you smiling about?" the fixer asks looking oddly at the opifex.
Dwen remains silent as his body begins to float over the sands, the fixer looking baffled.
The opifex's body begins to glow red as the old female voice says "Running. Nano program. "Healing Aura" The red glowing gases around Dwen, begin to shoot back into his skin, as this happens his bullet wounds begin to heal. The little red beams of gas shoot into him faster. Dwen lowers back to the ground.
The tall opifex smiles at the fixer once again, stomping his feet into sand his face crunches up, and he turns bright red. Dwen balls his fists as a green glowing ball surrounds him, he looks up at the fixer and yells "Dimach!!! "Echoing through the air, he disappears suddenly and reappears at the fixer's back, as his fists begin to glow green, Dwen puts his fists back and forces the power from within into his fists hitting the fixer in the back with great force knocking him to the ground, breaking a hole into the once great grid armor, blood begins to pour from the gaping hole in the blue crystals. He lets out a groan and falls to the ground...
"I do the dirty work for the people who pay me, it’s my job, nothing personal..."Dwen says kneeling down to the already glowing fixer.
The fixer lets out one last breathe as his body turns into blue glowing gas and floats into the air...
Dwen picks up his crossbow and begins to walk slowly into the sands towards his ship...as the rubi-kan sun's set... he looks up into the air and says to himself "Sssssee you at reclaim, great fixxxer."
