“Master?”
“Yes Obi-Wan?” Qui-Gon answered, never looking up from his datapad.
Obi-Wan swallowed nervously and shifted his weight from foot to foot. The silence stretched until it became uncomfortable-causing Qui-Gon to look up at his padawan curiously.
“What is it, Obi-Wan? Has something happened?”
The teenager shook his head mutely before clearing his throat.
“I’ve been thinking about someone quite a bit lately and I don’t know what to do. I come to you for advice, Master.” Obi-Wan finally forced out.
Qui-Gon smiled softly at his padawan and sat his datapad aside.
“May I ask who this special person is?”
“I’d prefer if you didn’t.” Replied Obi-Wan, his cheeks flushing slightly.
“I see a secret infatuation. Well my first suggestion is to talk to her and see how she reacts.”
Obi-Wan grew redder, prompting Qui-Gon to arch an eyebrow at him.
“Not a she, eh? Is he another Jedi padawan?”
“Master I-“
“Would prefer not to say who.” Qui-Gon finished for him.
The older man sat silently for a moment before grinning encouragingly at his padawan.
“Would you like to practice your confession on me first?”
All the color in Obi-Wan’s face drained away immediately.
“Are you sure that is a wise, Master? What if someone walked by and heard-they may get the wrong idea.” The boy stammered.
“Non-sense. What would you say to this person to convey exactly how much you are for him?”
“I-I’d start with saying that he is the most important person in my life. I strive to please him daily, no matter how difficult the task. He makes me feel safe and cared for-I don’t know what I’d do without you, Master!” Obi-Wan blurted out before slapping both hands over his mouth.
He began to turn away when Qui-Gons voice stopped him.
“Do not turn away from me Obi-Wan Kenobi. Remove your hands and continue.” He ordered his voice soft but firm.
“Yes Master.” Obi-Wan pulled in a deep breath before speaking again.
“You truly are the reason I do everything. I wake up each morning and go through my meditations and exercises so that I may become a great Jedi knight-and so that you will be recognized as the great teacher you are. I want you to feel proud of me, feel confident in my skills. I know that I’m not supposed to allow such feelings to cloud my mind, but I can’t stop it! Every moment that I am near you, but not with you is torture. I know that I am just a student to you but I hope to be more.”
Qui-Gon was quiet for so long that Obi-Wan began to worry for his own safety. He took a step back, then another until he could read the door button. His hand reached towards it when he felt the force embrace him. It held him still-completely immobile. Only his eyes moved as he watched his master rise and slowly stalk towards him. Once in front of the shaken boy he used the force to pull him close.
The kiss was bruising, blinding in it intensity. Obi-Wan melted instantly against the older man, but Qui-Gon still held him stiff. This was lucky because when the master pulled away only the force kept Obi-Wan’s knees from buckling.
“You always please me, my Padawan. You are a wonderful student and companion. But if you truly want to please me than leave your robe and follow me.” Qui-Gon turned and strode purposefully towards the bed room.
The force released the teenager and he hit the ground running-eager to please his master in many more ways.
