Okay, nobody panic... (NaNo, day 2)

Nov 02, 2008 22:34

Despite the fact that my daily word count has been a leisurely stroll all year, it's day 2 of NaNo, and I'm doing really well. Better than I had a right to expect, actually. Maybe the weird and crazy writing schedule I've been using all year is helping?

Anyway, here's the meter:

8216 / 50000 words. 16% done!

I hit a mini-crisis tonight, when my characters quit having reasons to interact with one another. That's never a good thing. So now, I'm stuck with, "Look how boring things usually are for our intrepid heroine!" I know they're going to get weird again soon- most likely in tomorrow's writing. I'm wondering how long I'll be able to keep up the 4k a day page. I've been breaking it up into 2k before bed, and 2k later in the day, which makes it feel like I've already been working on this story almost a week. But I'm still having fun, and I'm still enjoying my characters, at least two of whom like to blurt out things randomly.

Tomorrow should be fun.
