"Did you forget your keys?" Hank teased as he pulled the front door open. He paused when he saw an unfamiliar woman holding a child in her arms standing on the other side. "Hi," he greeted questioningly.
"Is Pavel Datsyuk here?" the woman asked.
"Not at the moment. Can I help you?"
"I have something for him," she told him. "His daughter."
Hank forced a laugh. "Pavel doesn't have a daughter," he informed her. "I don't know who you are or how you found where he lives but you might want to leave."
"Look," she said. "I'm not here for anything like that; I just want him to know his daughter. Any idea what time he'll be back?"
"I'm not sure that concerns you. How old is she?" he asked the woman.
"Thirteen months," she replied. "Who are you?"
"His friend." Hank studied her for a moment. "How long did you two date?"
"That's not important," she said. "Look, I just need to know when he'll be here. Never mind," she snapped a Pavel turned into the driveway.
"What going on?" Pavel asked as he stepped out of the car.
"You tell me," Hank replied dryly.
"Pavel," she said. "Meet your daughter."
Pavel stared at the three of them for a very long minute. "My daughter?" he repeated in disbelief.
"Your daughter," she repeated.
"Not possible," he argued as Hank crossed his arms defensively and leaned against the doorway.
"Look," she said impatiently. "I'm not here for money. Twenty-six months ago we met at a bar, got drunk, had amazing sex and I got pregnant. You deserve to know your daughter."
"I..." Pavel looked to Hank for help. "I not remember."
She sighed. "You said you and your partner was having a big fight and had broken up. We didn't mean for it to happen, it just did." She reached into her bag and handed him a piece of paper. "Call me when you're ready to talk." She turned on her heel and left.
"Not exactly what I expected to happen when I woke up this morning," Hank said without emotion.
"Hank," Pavel started softly.
"I don't think I want to talk right now," Hank said calmly. He turned on his heel and stalked inside.
"Hank - "
"I'm not fighting with you," Hank interrupted. "I don't want you going to some bar and getting another woman pregnant."
"Hank - "
"No." He shook his head. "I told you when we got together, there was one thing I really wouldn't tolerate and that was cheating." He reached for his coat. "I think I'll just leave. We can talk later." Hank left his house key on the table and stepped out of the door.
Pavel stared at the key, frozen to his spot. "Hank," he whispered. Grabbing the key, he ran out the door only to see Hank pulling out of the driveway. He drove down the street, never once looking back. Clutching the key in his had, Pavel closed his eyes and wondered how things had gone so bad.

Hank pulled into the driveway and stepped out of his car. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door and waited for Nick to answer.
"What happened?" Nick asked as he opened the door. "You look like hell."
"Pavel has a daughter," Hank blurted out. "That sonofabitch cheated on me and has a kid. You got room for me to stay until I can get someplace?"
Nick's face darkened. "He what?" he growled.
"You heard me."
Nick took a deep breath, resisting the urge to go smack Pavel on behalf of his teammate. "I have plenty of room," he promised Hank. "Come on in."
"Thanks," Hank smiled and sighed. "Shit. Well, at least I've got a place to stay. I left all my stuff at Pavel's."
"I can go get it," Chris offered, appearing behind Nick.
Hank started to say no before shaking his head. "Would you?" he asked, looking away. "I don't want to face him just yet."
"Of course," Chris agreed.
"What are you going to do?" Nick gently asked.
"Well, I already broke up with him. I guess it all depends on whether or not I can find another place to stay. And get a new locker." Hank shrugged. "I don't know."
"You can stay here are as long as you need," Nick promised.
"You're sure you can't work it out with him?" Chris asked.
"Could you if it was Nick that cheated?" Hank retorted.
"No," he replied. "I don't think so."
"Thank you for letting me stay. Would you show me which room I'll be staying in, please?"
"Sure," Nick replied and led Hank down the hallway.
"Thank you again," Hank replied and stepped into the room, closing the door behind him. He curled up on the bed and started to cry.
~*~*~
"I'll be back," Chris promised as he grabbed his keys and started for the door.
"No killing him," Nick ordered before Chris could step out of the house. "Not without me."
"I'll be home soon," Chris repeated and stepped out of the house. He managed to keep his emotions under control before he pulled into Pavel's driveway and knocked on the door.
"I'm here for Hank's stuff," he clipped out when the door opened.
Pavel paled. "His stuff? Too fast. This is mistake."
"You should have thought of that before you unzipped your pants and cheated on him," Chris growled.
"I not cheat," Pavel insisted. "I remember getting drunk but I not cheat. I not remember her. Please Chris, please believe me. I love him; I never do that to lose him."
Chris ignored him, pushed past into the house and stalked toward Hank's room.
"Chris," he begged, his voice catching. "I swear that I not cheat on him. She lie."
"I'm just taking some clothes right now," Chris said. "Nick and I will come back later for the rest of his stuff." He turned and glared at Pavel. "Is there anything special that he needs before Nick and I can come and get his stuff?"
"Me. He need more. Please. Why not believe me? You know me."
"Why would Hank lie?" Chris replied, his voice raising.
"He not lie," Pavel insisted. "Woman brought kid to house. I not know how she found it and told Hank kid mine." Pavel shook his head. "Not my kid. Not possible. Can't get pregnant if I not have sex with her. I not cheat on Hank."
"You obviously did something if Hank thinks you would sleep with a woman," Chris pointed out.
"We fight around then. Almost break up but not," Pavel explained. "I love him."
"Why should I believe you?"
"I need him," Pavel whispered. "I love him more than anything. I do whatever it take to prove kid not mine."
"Prove it then," Chris said. He silently packed a few bags for Hank before turning to leave. Pavel was still watching him. He refused to feel bad when he saw the tears running down the younger man's face.
"You not help me?" Pavel asked and shook his head. "Of course not. I prove it and get Hank back."
Chris squared his shoulders and stepped from the house, sighing heavily when he got in the car. "I hope you're right," he whispered to the empty car before driving back to Nick's.
"Where's Hank?" Chris asked when he found Nick by himself in the living room.
"Guest room. He wanted to be alone," Nick answered. "Pav still alive?"
Chris nodded. He sat next to Nick on the couch. "He says the girl isn't his, that he would never cheat on Hank."
Nick was quiet for a long minute. "Paternity test," he whispered. "Before she decides that she wants most, if not all, of what he's got." He sighed. "Do you believe him?"
Chris thought about it for a long minute. "Yes," he finally said. "And I didn't want to at first but I do. Should we talk to Hank?"
"Not yet," Nick answered. "Give him time to work through the initial hurt and we'll see what conclusion he comes to."
"Okay," Chris agreed. He sighed and reached for his phone.
"Who are you calling?" Nick curiously asked.
"Lawyer. Pavel probably isn't thinking clearly and, if he's telling the truth, I want them to be happy again. If he's lying, I don't want Hank to have any doubts about breaking up with him," he replied and dialed the number.
Nick waited until Chris hung up before pulling him into his arms and kissing the top of his head. "I love you."
"What did I do?" Chris asked, smiling.
"You're looking out for our friends."
"You taught me well," Chris replied. "Besides, you were probably thinking it and just hadn't done it yet." He smiled up at Nick again. "I love you too."
Nick smiled back before looking down the hallway. "Let's leave him be for now and if he needs anything, he'll let us know."
"I hope this clears up soon," Chris whispered. "I hate seeing them so miserable."
"Me too. It will."
"What if it doesn't?"
Nick was quiet for a long moment. He tightened his grip on Chris and answered, "Then we help them pick up the pieces."

"Hey Hank," Cheli greeted as Hank stepped into the locker room.
"Hey," he replied and looked around. "Is Coach in yet?"
"Should be in his office. You okay?"
Hank shrugged and walked away from the other man. "Coach?" he asked and tapped the door. "Got a minute?"
"Of course. What can I do for you?"
"I need to - " He stopped and sighed. "Can you take me off of Datsyuk's line? And maybe, if possible, can I get a new locker?" He blinked back the fresh wave of pain and tears. "I just need...I need to be away from him for awhile."
"But you two are great together. You're arguably the top line in the league," Mike protested.
"I want to play center for a while," Hank told him.
"Maybe Pav will switch to being a winger," Mike suggested.
"No!" Hank snapped.
Mike nodded. "Okay. If you're this is what you want."
"It's what I need," Hank corrected softly.
"You okay?" Mike asked after a brief pause.
"I will be."
"I can't give you a new locker," he replied, dropping the subject. "Maybe one of the guys will trade. What happened? Pav is your best friend; you two okay?"
"Pavel is a lying bastard," Hank snapped before visibly forcing himself to calm down.
"Are we talking about the same guy?" Mike asked skeptically. "What did he do?"
"Lies and secrets don't go together well," Hank answered.
"I suggest that you two talk this out and work through whatever happened. You two are great on the ice and really don't want to lose you guys on the same line." He thought about it for a moment. "One month. I'll give you a month, only because you've never asked for anything like this before, and at the end of the month, you two are going back on the same line." Hank opened his mouth to protest but Mike cut him off with a raised hand. "Look from my side for a second. I've got a team to coach. I need to do what's best for the team."
"Fine," he snapped. He knew that Mike was right, that just didn't mean he was going to be happy about it.
He stormed out of Mike's office and changed clothes, violently tossing his shoes in his locker as he put on his equipment and his practice jersey. Ripping his stick from the rack, he stormed out onto the ice, never once speaking to anyone else in the room.
"I don't think he's hurt anymore," Chris whispered to Nick. "He's now pissed off."
"He'll work through it," Nick said confidently.
"If he doesn't?"
"He will."
They watched Pavel step silently into the locker room and change for practice. He never once looked at anyone as he got ready and headed out.
"Should we talk to them?" Chris asked.
"You should tell Pavel what you did, about his appointment with our lawyer and his paternity test," Nick replied.
Chris nodded. "Pav," he said as he stopped the younger man from stepping onto the ice. "Can I have about five minutes?"
"You hit me this time?" Pavel asked warily.
"No," Chris promised quickly. "Nothing like that. I did something that you need to know about." Pavel sighed, nodded and followed Chris from the room.
"What you do?"
"I know you've never been around this before," Chris started. "But Nick and I have seen it happen too many times. You said you want to prove it's not yours, so I set up an appointment for you with a doctor and contacted our lawyer. You'll need a paternity text and the lawyer’s the best way to go by it. That way she can't sue you when it comes back negative," he replied and studied Pavel intently. He sent another silent prayer that his friend wasn't lying to them.
"She not mine. She adorable but I not sleep with women. Even when drunk," Pavel insisted quietly.
"Then we'll prove it," Chris said confidently.
"Thank you," Pavel told him as he quickly brushed away tears. "Why?"
"I have my reasons," Chris replied. "If you're telling us the truth, I want you and Hank happy again. Maybe the threat of lawyers will make her tell the truth. And if you're lying," Chris continued darkly. "I don't want Hank to have any doubts about leaving your ass."
"I not lie."
"I hope not," Chris said honestly. Pavel managed as small smile and left, headed for the ice. "Please don't be lying," Chris whispered to the empty room. He stepped out to see Hank standing next to the door.
"You're on Datsyuk's side?" Hank asked angrily.
"No," Chris replied. "I'm actually more on your side. I want him to get proof that the kid's not his, and get a lawyer involved. If he threatens her, and she's lying, she might admit it and drop this mess. And you two can decide what you're going to do. If he's lying, you have no doubts about this. About leaving him."
"Why would she lie?"
"For the money. Maybe she honestly thinks that Pavel's the father. But do you honestly think he'd cheat on you?" Chris asked.
"The kid!"
"Hank, honestly, think for a minute. Do you really think Pavel would cheat on you? Even if you two were fighting? And, knowing him as well as you do, do you think, that if you two broke up, that he would sleep with someone the same day?" Chris asked. "How long did he make you wait before he slept with you? And he loves you."
"I knew it. You are on his side," Hank snapped.
"I just want you both to be happy," Chris told him. "I just think you'll be happier together."
"That's not going to happen," Hank said angrily. "I should have known I couldn't trust you. If I can't trust Pav, I can't trust any of you. Nick's probably around the corner waiting to stab me in the back too."
"That's not fair," Chris protested.
"What's not fair is being betrayed by the man I love. I'll see you on the ice," Hank said and angrily stormed away.
Chris sighed in defeat and slowly stepped onto the ice. "You sure I can't go back to the Islanders or St Louis?" he muttered to Nick. "Now Hank hates me. I think I'll bunk with Dom tonight, that way you at least know where Hank is."
"I like you here," Nick pointed out. "It can't be that bad."
"Ask me after practice," Chris said, watching Hank send the puck flying down the ice. "He's on the opposite team as me today and I don't think I'm wearing enough padding."
Nick laughed gently. "Don't worry. Hank's going to calm down."
"Say something nice at my funeral," Chris replied and stepped onto the ice.
Nick followed. He watched as Hank carefully avoided being anywhere near Pavel, instead saving his anger for shooting the puck. By the time practice was over, he was exhausted from keeping a close eye on his team.

"Got the results back yet?" Chris asked when he was alone with Pavel.
"Yes but it not matter. Hank not take me back. It been three week."
"What were the results? Has the lawyer talked to her? You've told me nothing in three weeks, you need to let me know so I can talk to Hank for you," Chris replied.
"Hank not talking to you either," Pavel reminded him.
"But he is talking to Nick," Chris pointed out. He sighed in frustration when Pavel stayed silent. "Pav, please. What are the results? I'm tired of staying with various teammates because of this. Either they were negative and we can work on getting Hank to shut up and listen or she's yours and we'll deal with that too."
"She not mine. Just like I said. Lawyer talk to her tomorrow about her accusations. I tell you I not sleep with her. I just wish someone believe me," Pavel said with a heavy sigh. "I just want Hank back. I want my life back."
"I'm sorry," Chris said softly. "I wanted to believe you."
"It not matter. Nothing matter. I not cheat on Hank. I get drunk and pass out. But Hank not believe me. I all alone now," Pavel told him sadly.
"I'll talk to Nick tonight. Make Hank listen to us and you better call me as soon as you're done with the lawyer tomorrow and let me know what happens there. You're not alone," Chris insisted. "I hoped the kid wasn't yours but I needed proof. I do believe you now."
"Go. Talk to Nick," Pavel told him and walked out of the room as Nick and Hank walked in.
"Hank," Chris started.
"Don't talk to me," Hank snapped.
Chris stared at him for a long minute, clenching his jaw as he debated his actions. "I've never met anyone who can hold a grudge like you," he said finally.
"I've never met anyone that can stab his friends in the back as quick as you. Why'd you side with that cheating bastard over me?" Hank hissed.
Chris felt his control snap. "Side? Side!? I took no sides! You both are my fucking friends I was only looking out for your best interests!" he yelled, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "Pavel had no idea what to do, he's never had to deal with this before and we've seen it happen too many times, so, as his friend, I helped him. You wanted your shit from his house, I went and got it. Now sit down and shut up. You are going to listen to me or I am going to knock some sense into your thick head."
"He can do it," Nick warned when it looked like Hank was going to refuse.
"I don't want to hear this," Hank snapped.
"I don't fucking care," Chris snarled. "Sit down!"
Hank glared as Nick pushed him into one of the chairs.
"Pavel took a paternity test to prove to you, beyond a doubt that the kid isn't his. And ya know what? He was right. She's not his kid. Tomorrow they meet with the lawyer. I don’t know what's going on because no one is talking to me. I do know that if comes out that she's lying, you have a lot of ass kissing to do. Cause I believe Pavel. I believe that he got drunk and passed out at the bar; she saw an easy target and pounced on it. I believe that he wouldn't cheat on you for anything in this world. And I believe that he still loves you very much." Chris crossed his arms over his chest. "What do you believe? Other than you hate me."
"She's not his?" Hank asked.
"No."
"He didn't cheat on me?"
"That's what it looks like."
Hank hung his head. "I'm an asshole, aren't I?"
"No," Chris replied softly. "You did exactly what Nick or I would have done. You were hurt and needed time to think. Your only problem is that you never got over being angry and hurt." He sat down across from Hank. "You need to talk to Pavel, he's pretty tore up. Worse than you because not only did he lose you but he's got some woman after everything he has."
"The bitch won't get away with it," Hank growled.
"Right now, Pavel would let her," Nick spoke up. "He's crushed enough that he doesn't care."
"He should care," Hank replied.
"He doesn't because he doesn't have you. And you're all that matters to him," Chris told him. "Go, talk to him. Now!"
Hank nodded and rushed out of the room. He managed to grab Pavel's arm before he stepped out of the arena. "Pavel, we need to talk."
"You hit me now?" Pavel asked quietly. "I not care. Hit if you want. Only thing that not happen to me this month."
"If anyone is going to hit someone, you should hit me," Hank told him. "I'm sorry."
Pavel shrugged. "I sorry you thought I cheat."
"Pav, she brought a kid to the house," Hank replied. "She seemed serious."
"She is. She want everything I have. Tomorrow we take results to lawyers to prove kid not mine. I give her money if she leave me alone. I was happy until she decide to mess up my life."
"You can't give her money. She'll never leave you alone."
"What does it matter?" Pavel murmured. "I not have you anymore. Nothing else matters."
"Would you take me back?" Hank asked softly. "I'm sorry and I still love you. I want to be back with you. I'm an asshole but I love you."
"I want that. But you might leave again," Pavel said sadly.
"I won't. I've learned my lesson. Let me help you fight this bitch. Please?" Hank pleaded.
"You won't leave me again?"
"Never," Hank vowed. "Never again. I'm sorry. Let me help."
He hesitated. "Okay," Pavel finally agreed. "I love you."
"I love you too. I'm so sorry," Hank whispered as he pulled Pavel to him and held onto him tightly.
"I am too," Pavel agreed and wrapped his arms tightly around Hank's shoulders. "I not know what to do," he admitted as his body started to shake and tears began to fall. "Why me? Why she do this to me? I not sleep with her. Not possible. I gay, I not have sex with women," he babbled before crying harder.
"I don't know why she did this," Hank said as he held onto Pavel as tight as he could. "I'm sorry," he whispered into his ears. He ran his hands soothingly over Pavel's back, trying to help him calm down. "I'll be here now. Next to you and helping you fight. We'll get through this."
Pavel pulled back and wiped the tears from his face. "I fight now," he promised, his jaw set in determination. "I make her leave me alone and if I have to announce to world I gay, I will. She not get away with this."
"Good," Hank told him. "I'll be next to you, through the entire thing. I promise."
"Thank you," Pavel whispered. "We go home now? It seem too big without you there."
"Yes," Hank agreed. "Let's go home."
~*~*~
"Hank," Pavel said quietly into the dark, not wanting to wake his lover if he was sleeping.
"Yes?" Hank answered immediately.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. I'm sorry I doubted you," he apologized again.
"It okay. I have you back now. Not matter," Pavel assured him as he pulled Hank into his arms.
Hank laughed softly. "I'll never forget the look on her face when you stood up and yelled at her that you were gay and tossed the paternity results at her. And when your lawyer tried to make you shut up - " He laughed again. "What exactly did you yell at him in Russian? All I could make out was something about incompetent."
"Called his parents barn animals. Told him he thicker than rock," Pavel laughed. "It done. She gone. You here. This wonderful."
"Yes," Hank agreed. "And we're moving tomorrow. No chance she find you again." He leaned up and kissed Pavel slowly. "I don't know why she lied but I'm sorry that you went through that. I love you, Pav. And I swear to you that I'll listen to you from now on."
Pavel kissed softly. "I luckiest guy ever."
"No, I am," Hank argued. "You took me back." He curled up closer to Pavel. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," Pavel laughed. He kissed the top of Hank's head. "I be miserable without you."
"I was miserable without you," Hank told him. "And I really need to do something nice for Nick and Chris. They were only trying to help and I was being an ass. I hope Chris can forgive me."
"He already did," Pavel told him. "He frustrated with you, but he said he only want us happy."
"I'm happy," Hank assured him. "I have you again. Anything you want me to do to make you happy? Anything at all, just name it and it's yours."
"All I want is you. Forever," Pavel told him seriously.
"It's yours," Hank promised.
"Then I happy too," Pavel told him.
"Pav," he whispered nervously. "May I?" he asked as he brushed the palm of his hand against Pavel's cock.
"Yes," he answered immediately, pushing against Hank's hand.
"Thank you," Hank replied as he moved down the bed and pulled down Pavel's shorts. He licked along the tip of Pavel's cock before taking it between his lips and sucking lightly.
Pavel reacted immediately. "Hank," he moaned softly as he thrust lightly into his mouth.
Hank ran his fingertips up the back of Pavel's thighs as he sucked harder, humming softly.
"Missed this. Missed you," he murmured, wrapping his fingers through Hank's hair.
Hank smiled and caressed Pavel's balls as he swallowed around his lover's cock. He pressed a finger from his other hand against Pavel's opening.
Pavel cried out loudly. "Hank," he begged.
He removed his finger and pushed it into his mouth, making sure it was wet before pushing it past the tight muscle. When he felt Pavel shudder, he sucked harder.
It was long before Pavel was shuddering in need. "Gotta come," he warned Hank.
Hank nodded and twitched his finger, pushing against the bundle of nerves as he hummed again.
Pavel came with a hoarse shout, coming down Hank's throat as he swallowed around him.
"Thank you," Hank rasped out as he licked Pavel clean and moved back up the bed. He placed a soft kiss to the corner of Pavel's mouth before laying back down.
"Wait," Pavel laughed. "What you want?"
"That's what I wanted," Hank answered.
"What about you?" he asked, brushing his fingers against Hank's cock.
"If you want, that's fine but you don't have to. I'm fine," he replied. "I've wanted to do that since you told me that you'd take me back."
"It great," Pavel told him. "I want you feel great too. You want blow job or me in you?"
"I want..." Hank kissed Pavel's cheek softly. "Whichever you want to do."
"Which you prefer?" Pavel laughed slightly.
"You in me but blow job is good too."
"I want in you too," Pavel admitted. He pulled a small bottle of lube from the drawer.
"I missed you," Hank whispered, his voice catching. "I'm a fool and I'm thankful you don't hate me anymore." He sat up and pulled down his boxers, spreading his legs wide. "I love you."
"Never hated you," Pavel told him seriously as he slowly pushed one lubed finger in and concentrated on stretching him. "Was miserable and lonely without you."
"You hated me because I left you," Hank cried out. "I never leave you again." He pushed down on Pavel's hand. "I was a mess," he admitted and moaned deeply.
"Not want get up in the morning," Pavel said as he pushed a second finger in and continue to stretch him.
"Not want to sleep," Hank groaned. "Not eat." He pushed down hard on Pavel's fingers and clenched tightly around them.
"Not want to move," Pavel said as he pulled his fingers out and spread the lube on his cock. "But now you back."
Hank whimpered. "I back," he promised. "I've missed this." He spread his legs farther apart. "Missed you."
"Missed you too," Pavel told him as he pushed lightly against his opening. "Not realize how much I love you until you gone."
"I love you too," Hank replied and pushed toward Pavel. "Marry me," he blurted out just as Pavel pushed into him.
Pavel froze. "What?" he squeaked.
"Marry me," Hank repeated. "I love you."
"You serious?"
"Very," Hank replied. "We'll go to Sweden after the season's over and have a legal ceremony."
"Yes."
"Really?" Hank grinned.
Pavel smiled back and nodded, pushing completely into him.
"Love you," he cried out. "So much." He looked up at Pavel with tears in his eyes. "Thank you."
"Love you too," he smiled and pulled out, pushing back into him slowly.
"Pav," he moaned. "Faster."
"No," Pavel grinned. "Been too long. Slow."
"Been too long so it needs to be fast," Hank argued.
Pavel only smiled and continued his slow rhythm.
Hank whimpered and arched toward him. "I missed you. All of you," he moaned as his eyes rolled back. "Faster, please."
Pavel nodded silently and moved faster, careful to hit Hank's prostate on nearly every thrust.
Hank screamed as he arched toward Pavel. "Not long," he warned.
Pavel nodded in agreement as he started to stroke Hank's cock in time with his thrusts. "Come for me Hank," he ordered, staring into his lover's eyes.
"Yes," Hank cried out as he came hard at the command, covering their stomachs with his release and his gaze never leaving Pavel's.
Pavel thrust in twice more before coming again, deep inside him. He kissed Hank softly as he pulled out carefully and lay down next to him. "I love you," he said kissing him again.
"I love you too," he replied and cuddled closer to Pavel. "I serious too, marry me. We'll fly Chris and Nick out to be our witnesses. I want you forever."
"Yes," Pavel said again. "I proud to be your husband."
"I proud to be your husband too," Hank replied as he brushed away a tear. "Thank you."
"No thank me. I happy. You happy. This wonderful."
Hank grinned and reached for the phone. "May I have fun with Chris?"
"Sure," Pavel laughed. "Just don't make him want to kill me."
"Never," Hank promised and dialed Chris' phone.
"Hello?" Chris answered.
"Ozzie," Hank smiled. "I'm getting married. Would you be a witness for me?"
Chris was silent for a minute. "That depends."
"Depends on what?" Hank asked. "You either will be there for me or you won't."
"Who are you marrying?"
"Pavel," Hank laughed. "The man that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with."
"Then yes," Chris replied. Hank could hear the smile in the other man's voice.
"Would Nick go with us?" he asked carefully. "Would he do us the honor of standing there with us?"
"I'm sure he will," Chris answered. "Do you want me to ask him?"
"I'll ask," Hank replied. "That only fair." He heard the shuffle of the phone before Nick's voice greeted him. "Hi. I just wanted to call to tell you that I was getting married and I want you to be a witness."
Nick laughed. "Congratulations," he said happily. "When do we leave?"
"As soon as the season is over," he replied. "Unless you think we should do it sooner." He looked over at Pavel and shrugged.
"We take long honeymoon if during offseason," Pavel pointed out.
"The day after we're allowed to leave," Hank announced. "And we'll be back the day before pre-season starts."
"Okay," Nick agreed. "Congratulations."
"Thank you," Hank told him. "I'll be by to get the rest of my stuff tomorrow. Night." He grinned at Pavel and hung up. "Love you," he told him sincerely. "You do know that you don't have to do this for me."
"I know I want to," Pavel told him, wrapping his arms tight around his lover. "I want this for us."
