she walked the corner round
atop the curb with arms spread wide
she smiled at me when she made it all the way
turned and looked into me
she reached for me
that smile i find it hard to describe
i see it when i close my eyes
the sun hung slowly lower as we ignored the day
we walked more corners round the same exact way
in the downtown dead of sunday afternoon
echoed laughter from our secluded empty streets
the windows we shopped were closed but it was okay
together we were and the rest just faded away
she reached for me
that smile i find it hard to describe
i see it when i close my eyes
i'll never see it ne'er again
i let go the curb was right behind
i laughed as i fell thinking all would be fine
the passing car i didn't see
the car i'll never see
a concussion insued the bleeding followed and i lost my sight
she reached for me
that smile it was hard to find behind the pain
the tears welled up in her eyes
she found it hard to fight the sadness
the way she felt inside
she just couldn't manage to describe
the way she'll never smile again
is the smile i see when i close my eyes
it's the only thing i'll ever see
and she found it too hard to stay with me
