Reckless Beauty

The streaks of cerise in the evening sky made me feel hopeful. No matter how rotten a day it is, somehow it helps that it ends with a sunset. Sunsets are peaceful, reckless beauty, existing in wasteful abandon. Each sunset is different and brief. So much beauty splashed on the heavens to simply fade away in moments.

And if life can put forth all that effort for just a few minutes of cerise bliss, perhaps there is some hope in the world, some beauty to spare, some happiness waiting for me, someday, somewhere.

Sunsets give me hope to try again, to try to believe that something will work out someday.

And even if I won't find what I am looking for, at least, at the end of most days, there is beauty waiting for me, just as close as the sky. I just need to look up to see it.
