Okay so I've actually taken the time to read a ton of the posts/threads about the behind-the-scenes-machinations of LJ and, yeah, I'm late to the party as always, but I am annoyed. I'm not quite outraged as a lot of folks are, but I'm definitely annoyed. I think if I wasn't a paying member I would probably not be as annoyed, but I pay for the service.
I guess in many ways I didn't get what Dreamwidth was trying to accomplish. I looked at it as a new and shiny platform, but until I really delved into several of the more recent LJ maneuvers, I didn't really appreciate that Dreamwidth, although definitely being a new and shiny platform, really is different where it counts- in how it treats its user base.
My journal and my posts aren't huge, they don't shake fandoms or affect many people, but they are important to me. And I am of the firm belief that I count, that I matter, to myself if no one else.
So all that being said, I'm going to be moving myself completely over to Dreamwidth. I will continue to crosspost for those interested, but comments will be disabled on the LJ side (everyone will be welcome to comment on DW -if anyone needs an invite code, please let me know, or use OpenID).
Over the next little while I will be removing my fic from LJ and replacing it with links to it on DW. It's not a task I'm particularly looking forward to, but I feel pretty strongly about it.
