We have a really small bathroom off of the master bedroom. And like everything else in this house, my mother-in-law has everything in what my husband refers to as "institutional white", ie neutral shades of eggshell white.
Anyway. This bathroom has been bugging me for a while, I really wanted to find a way to add some color without overpowering that dinky bathroom.
So I had bought a neat framed watercolor done in mustard yellows and greens (daisies in a pot) at the Salvation Army for like a buck I think a while back and I decided that I was going to use it in that bathroom and base the new colors off of it.
So I went to Walmart (Christmas giftcards are your friend) and hit it really lucky with a curtain set that was perfect as well as some new towels and bathmats. The one window in the room faces out into the back yard and faces the woods (plus we're in a raised ranch so we're up high) so wanted a cafe style set that we can close for privacy instead of using a blind (they mold too quickly in that bathroom).
All in all I'm very pleased with the result, things are bright and cheerful, and I didn't spend a fortune (about $40 grand total)

lol - ignore that hot pink bowl in the last pic, my hubby needs to replace that valve that drips but he ended up with bronchitis this weekend and couldn't fix it. And to let you know how not-big this bathroom is, in the last pic, where the edge of the green carpet is lying is actually hitting against the baseboard heater (ie the wall), both sides of the shower doors are the same width. What's nice is that the curtains aren't snow white, it's more of a natural fiber color, it's very homey.
/me is very happy. ^.^
