(joe strummer & the mescaleros - mega bottle ride)

The first and last time Jimmy tried acid, he knew the trip was going bad when he turned his head and there was this thing in the corner of the room with eyes everywhere like holes of light. He almost asked it for a name, but its mouth kept sliding on and off so he changed his mind, lay back and hoped he'd come down. It looked like it was made for killing with long limbs not cruel but cold and when it turned its faces to the ceiling and was gone, Jimmy thanked God that it hadn't been real.

(bishop allen - things are what you make of them (reprise))

Sometimes Castiel asks him if this is okay, this laying on of foreign hands, and Jimmy's tired now so he says sure. It's the easiest answer. Dean doesn't think to ask, but that doesn't matter because there's nobody else left to touch. You can never go home, he's been told twice over, so he goes to sleep and forgets.
Then: the garrisons are empty and Heaven's been rearranged; the Impala's rusted out and the Earth renewed. I'm taking you home, Castiel says. Jimmy doesn't answer, and when he wakes up alone in a place called Pontiac, Illinois, he doesn't understand.

(the rheostatics - claire)

Jimmy opens his eyes, and it takes him too long to realize what that means. He feels the sidewalk underneath, then a woman's leaning over him-his daughter, old enough now for the wedding band on her finger. This fact of Claire as an adult twists in him, pushes at the blank space resting heavy behind his bones.
"Dad." Claire sits next to him, holds his hands. "What happened?"
Jimmy tries to breathe. "You remember Castiel?"
There's a sort of reverence in his tone that he hears too late to catch, something in her expression opens up, and he's sorry.
