Go team go!

Well, it's summer, and I've just committed all my free time away. I want to make sure I get out of the house, out of the office, and play outside and with others as much as possible. So... I'm training for a triathlon!

It's Team in Training, which is raising funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. The triathlon is September 10, in Monterey. Until then, it's swimming, running and biking, six days a week. (Well, as much as I can -- I also signed up for a broadcasting class...) I went on the first coached bike ride today -- what a blast! This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. I'm so excited!

I also need to raise $4200 by the end of the month. Yes! Wow! But I have no shame, and this is a fantastic cause for a deserving organization. If you are reading this, yes, expect to get an e-mail or letter from me soon, asking for your support. Or, if you want to save me the trouble, you can just contribute through the web site that I have set up.

How much? I figure if 100 people give me $42, I'll be all set. But of course any amount is ok. Everything helps! And 75% of everything I raise goes straight towards research and services, so every buck makes a difference.

And if you want to go running, swimming or biking with me, I could always use another training buddy!

Have a great summer, everyone!
