Since getting my job at the library last year, I meant to turn the experience into a book. It sounds boring to write a book from the perspective of a libriarian assistant, but trust me, every single day there something random beyond comprehension would happen, and it is all dying to be written out. But, there was just too much to cover, and only after working there for several months did I figure out how my approach to writing it should have been constructed. Now, I might possibly be going back for a month from the end of July to the end of August, and the way I'll go about it is come on here each day, either write out the events or at least make note of it all, and use it to write it proper once it's done with. Starting with today. I've applied to about 20 libraries for a job, not all of them were currently hiring, and most promoted internal employees to the open positions before even looking at their piles of outside applicants. I only landed one interview, and it would have been a huge paycut plus it turned out I'll be moving nowhere near that area. Today I finally had to admit what I've been dreading, that I'll have to go back to my old job for at least a month. I'm still actively trying to get a better job, and am going to tell them tomorrow that it will only be for a month, but there is no possibly way to justify taking another month off to find a new job when there's money to be made less than a mile from my apartment. Anyway, earlier I finally buckled, and left a message asking when it was they wanted me back in, and they called back to say it will be in a week and a half. So, my entries for the next month or so will be concerned with my desperation to find a better job, and my experiences going back to my position. I have a new coworker to look forward to meeting, too. The guy that replaced me when I was laid off. This will be amazing. At least to me, hopefully anyone out there that might come across this will get a kick out of it, too.
