So glad that his love of her - a somewhat reluctant/angry/tired love, but love nonetheless - came through convincingly. He's sort of loving her despite himself at this point.

"I hope that he at least found some comfort in her presence. After all, he's not had the best day either! "
---Seriously, what an all-around horrible day for everyone involved. I'd been toying around with switching up the POV in C.3 in order to address this very issue, but I may have Lizzie do a little eavesdropping in to clear up the question instead. Lizzie wasn't really thinking about his feelings - except in brief bursts of semi-revelation - and I can't really blame her for her selfishness. The world is very personally centralized at her age (especially considering that she's a high-born only child), and pretty much everyone she cares being dead doesn't help either.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed my description of the city. When I saw the film, I'd envisioned it as a somewhat lonely place - the kind of fortress that is mostly a ghost town when the court isn't called forth (a rare occassion in itself) - and I wanted to applify that feeling by taking her into the belly of the structure. This story began in my brain with the idea of being haunted, something that crept out after I sketched together "The Promise of Nostos", and I've been enamored of the idea of (literal and figurative)ghosts ever since.

So glad that you enjoyed everything, and thank you so much for reading and commenting - it means so mich to me! *hugs*
