"What did the Captain want?" Goren asked Eames upon her return to her side of their a jointing desks as his fingers drummed somewhat annoyingly upon his. She knew he always became hypersensitive and jittery whenever she was called in alone to speak to the captain, it was increasingly worse when the blinds were drawn to a close, like they had been. He never told her why it would always affect him so greatly or why it seemed to scare him. Knowing him he likely thought he was so clever and intelligent enough that he was hiding everything; she didn't see the reasoning to breaking that illusion.
"What? Oh nothing." Vague and closed responses were the worst for him.
"Really?"
"Yeah really." It would be now that he'd might possible take the bait, break the mold around his illusion and admit that not only did he want to know why he was shut out, what she was hiding, but needed to know.
"Well alright. Come on we should get to 16th and Ford before four." He stood up, face blank. Still unable to break.
