So we're watching this list show on VH1 about the 50 greatest hip hop artists of all time. And I am not sure exactly what the criteria is for it, but at any rate it's flawed at best. Certain people in hip hop like to give a whole lot of credit to some of the rappers from the early days. While they deserve plenty of respect, I don't think they sound as good or as listenable years later. I'm certainly not saying that new rappers today are great at all, some are, but many aren't. The top 10 in my book would go like this:
10. Public Enemy
9. The Fugees
8. Snoop Dogg
7. De La Soul
6. The Roots
5. NWA
4. Tupac
3. Eminem
2. A Tribe Called Quest
1. Notorious BIG
