More of my bar AU. it is late. But i did somthing. So yay?
Set after the others, here, here, here and here.

Gocchi, Kawai, and Tottsu centric.
Mentions is FujigayaxKitayama.
No Hasshi appearances, but he is not forgotten.

“This afternoon Hasshi won’t be in, he has the night off.” Were the words that Gocchi softly commented to Kawai, as he leaned against the bar, watching Tottsu set up for the night. Tottsu had come in early that day, and he had looked around the bar. Gocchi had gotten a little better at reading the musician over his time performing at the bar, but he was still mostly a mystery many times. The musician tended to play his cards close to his chest.

Gocchi did notice, however, that something had changed in Tottsu’s face when it was mentioned that Hasshi had found the notebook while he was cleaning, and had wanted to make sure that Tottsu got it.

Gocchi had waited for a moment, wondering if Tottsu would ask about the younger man, but he just smiled, and mildly thanking Gocchi was taking care of the notebook. But Gocchi was a patient man, and he watched, and would watch.

He and Tsuka-chan knew what they were doing after all.

“But, Tottsu is performing tonight, and Hasshi never misses a night.” Kawai commented back just as softly, certain his words would not be heard over the light strumming of Tottsu’s guitar as he tuned and warmed up.

“I know.”

“And business?”

Tsuka-chan leaned against the bar, joining in on the conversation. “They will think Tottsu is distraught over Hasshi not being here, and will buy more than usual.”

“But-“ Kawai stopped as the door opened, and everyone chimed out a loud welcome.

What no one missed, was the way that just for a moment, Tottsu watched the door as well, quickly turning back to his guitar.

“How long?” Kawai asked Gocchi, as Tsuka-chan bound over to their first customers of the night.

Gocchi didn't answer, but Kawai could imagine. After he and Taipi had ganged up on Kitayama, they had managed to figure out most of what happened that night. Needless to say no one had been happy with the older man that night, and Taipi had been furious that Kitayama, while he was trying to be a good friend, had possibly ruined or at least made incredibly difficult, the happiness of one of friends.

Kawai was not sure how their date night went after that, but the pair had still been bickering when they left. But then again Kawai knew Taipi well enough to know that the would enjoy the make up sex, though his lover would have to work for it.

And while he was not sure what Gocchi and Tsuka-chan were planning, the fact that they got involved spoke volumes.

They would get Hasshi his happiness, he was certain. Well, at least if Tottsu would just cooperate. And the glances that he sent at the door for the rest of the night, each time it opened, was enough to indicate that maybe, just maybe, it was possible.

When Kitayama had come to pick Tottsu up that night, he had looked around the bar for a moment, searching for someone, and after a moment his gaze settled on Kawai.

Kawai had said nothing, just crossed his arms over his chest and raised an eyebrow in challenge.

A few days later, when Tottsu was again performing at their bar, Hasshi was once again off. This time, however, Tottsu slid up to the bar and ordered a drink.

He never drank before his performances.

“So, I admit that it is odd to see you back there by yourself.” Tottsu tried to sound nonchalant, and it was all that Kawai could do to keep a straight face. The day after Hasshi’s first absence, Hasshi had come bounding into the bar and filed Kawai in on all the details of his apparently new, part time job.

Kawai had to admit that he was a little jealous.

“Hasshi got dragged by some of his friends to a new part time job.” Kawai commented, trying to keep his tone light as he polished the glassware for tonight’s shift. “Apparently it is going well, but it keeps him out of the bar a few nights a week.”

“A new job?” Tottsu asked in question and Kawai nodded. “When you see him, you should ask him about it. But he will be happy to know you asked about him. He made me tell him all the details for your performance.”

Totsuka chuckled softly, placing his mostly empty glass back on the counter.

“It just isn’t the same without him here.”

“You used to perform without him all the time though.” Kawai didn't look directly at Totsuka as he placed the glasses back, and the other nodded, looking off into the bar at nothing in particular.

“I did, but Hasshi….He just adds something to the place.” The other man shrugged as the door opened and the first customer came in. “But, I better get to work, it is about time to start.”

Kawai nodded with a bright smile. “Do your best, as always.”

Later that night, Kitayama came early to the bar. Kawai was not surprised, as Taipi had messaged him earlier. What was surprising, however, was that Kitayama had two tickets to the performance club, Shokura.

“Just what am I supposed to do with these? Taipi gave them to you, for Tottsu.” Kawai asked, talking to Kitayama between customers, which was very hard to do at the moment.

Sadly enough Tsuka-chan had been right. Since Hasshi was not there, everyone was convinced that Tottsu was heartbroken, and sales were up. Both in drinks for Tottsu, and in general overall sales.

Gocchi, Tsuka-chan and Kawai, though, were not completely convinced that Tottsu was heartbroken. Something was certainly off about the man but….

“I was told that Hasshi is worth seeing on stage.” Kitayama sighed, running a hand through his hair, and Kawai did not respond. “Taisuke gave me an earful, about messing with other peoples happiness, and meddling in things I don't know, and then he gave me these tickets.

Kawai didn't say anything, but Gocchi slid over to the bar, leaning against the bar near Kitayama.

“Is Hasshi really performing there?”

“Your boyfriend performs at Shokura and you are asking me this why?” Kawai snapped back, just a little bit envious. It would be the best place to impove his impression skills, and maybe then he could really impress Gocchi, but working at Shokura would mean that he could not work here, since almost everyone at Shokura was serious about their career in performing.

Gocchi glanced down at the ticket, and then back to Kitayama. “I would suggest you trust your boyfriend and manage to take Tottsu on a BFF date. These tickets are hard to get, and I promise it is worth the effort.”

“But, Shokura is hard to get into. Taipi almost killed himself making it. I know that Tottsu would love to be on stage their. They take the best of the best. The unique and original. But they have to invite you, you don't just apply. And, well, Hasshi it just a bartender, right?”

Gocchi didn't respond to the comment, just pushed off the bar. “We are closed that night, so Tottsu will be free.”

Unsurprisingly, when Kitayama presented the idea to Tottsu, he was very excited about the idea, and just a little bit shocked.

“I heard that Shokura just got a new act, and there is a lot of excitement about it. I guess the Snowmen are collaborating with someone. It is really like nothing that they have done before. I will really have to thank Taipi for the tickets when I see him.”

“Just wait until you see the show,” Tsuka-chan added, leaning against the doorway at the last customer left for the night. “I hear that it is magical.”
