Shhhh this isn't late. I totally didn't write this in the past hour. JOJI I AM SO SORRY.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BY THE WAY ♥ you are a life ruiner. u_u and this was supposed to be more centered on him, but it OT3'd and I can't get up. MyDol crew, yay~ Further distraction from the fact that I am failing nano
“Eat me,” Wonshik said flatly from where he was staring Byungjun down, tail lashing angrily, and Hakyeon wondered why it was only 8:00 AM and he had to deal with this when they were out of his favorite brand of coffee
“Come on, leave them be, they’re new,” he told his friend, reaching out to tug him away, hoping that a sunny window nook would put him in a better mood.
Living in a boy’s home for hybrids was difficult enough as is - for a society that shelled out millions for hybrid sex tapes, funding for orphaned or abused hybrids was stupidly scarce - but their house had recently become far more crowded, Brian having chosen to take in three more teen hybrids that the city was having trouble finding homes for.
For the most part, Hakyeon didn’t mind the newer additions - he got along better with Sanghyuk than he did Nakhun, most days - but it was hard not to resent them for being nosier, noisier, and generally far too kitten-like when they were disrupting the normal routine. Mostly it was just that the new, squishier sleeping arrangements meant that Yoonchul had been shoved in the room that Hakyeon shared with Wonshik and Taekwoon, leaving their privacy down to zilch. It was maddening, not being able to have any time alone, though Daewon and the others tried their best to occupy the new kids. Still, Hakyeon tried to be as patient and understanding, because there were never good stories that preceded a hybrid ending up in a home like this.
(Speaking of Taekwoon, he was probably still asleep, huddled in a nest of blankets up in their room. He had become especially scarce with the recent move-ins, but Hakyeon would give it a couple weeks before Taekwoon went back to silently demanding the space and attention he wanted. With luck, someone would get adopted and they could move Yoonchul back out of their room.)
Wonshik was still fuming, hissing and muttering as they made their way up to the second floor, the grand windows in the hallway arched outwards to create a window seat that was piled high with pillows and soft toys. Brian had bought the house specifically for the amount of windows it was built with, as it meant there were many satisfactory napping spots for the hybrids living there.
“They’ll learn,” Hakyeon said, practically pushing Wonshik down onto the window seat and clambering on behind him, curling around the other’s back and forcibly purring in an attempt to soothe the other’s ruffled (metaphorical) whiskers.
“Yeah, yeah,” Wonshik muttered, wanting to stay annoyed, but generally too good-natured and easily persuaded to stay so. He slowly relaxed back against Hakyeon, tabby tail slowing as the agitation eased out of him. True to the cat in his genetics, he was asleep two minutes later, Hakyeon contentedly easing after him.
He was about to be fully asleep when the door furthest in the hallway opened and Taekwoon stuck his head out, his multi-colored ears hard to see amidst his fluffy bedhead. Yawning and rubbing his eyes, having obviously just woken up moments before, Taekwoon shuffled his way over to where Wonshik and Hakyeon were sprawled, and crawled up to join them, worming his way to rest nearest the window, head pillowed on Wonshik’s stomach.
“Ugh, you two are so heavy,” Hakyeon complained in a half-whisper, not really wanting to take Wonshik up.
“Shut up,” Taekwoon mumbled, tail curled across Wonshik so Hakyeon could pet it. “Less talking, more sleeping.”
“You only just woke up,” Hakyeon said with a chuckle, but napping was the whole point anyway, so he settled down, Wonshik and Taekwoon both sprawled on top of him. It wasn’t perfect, not at all. They still never had the privacy for anything fun and Sanghyuk was probably going to come careening up the stairs at any moment, chasing his own tail, but for now…
For now, it was perfect.
