[team four] random introspective thing

Literally nothing happens in this fic except Jun thinking about Arashi.

The start of something new always gets Jun worked up in a way he can't seem to control. It's in the way he wakes up in the middle of the night with thoughts that he scribbles down on paper (and grumbles at in the morning when inevitably he wishes he had more time to sleep). It's in the way his muscles yearn to move more than they do to rest, even after a long workout at the gym. It's in the way he gets wrapped up in conversations with the staff for long enough that even Nino, who's always respected his space, who has three other people he likes to sidle up to, comes by and casually lays the latest manga weekly just out of Jun's reach. Jun brims with energy, collects it from the air around him, and tries -- but doesn't always succeed -- to package in a way that makes sense to the other members.

But that's when he's glad he isn't just one -- that there are four other people who help him put his thoughts in order, even if they don't tell him anything specific. Jun gets his real inspiration from them -- from figuring out how to arrange what they're doing to best fit their group. So even though starting something new is a project that gets everyone excited, brings in everyone's input and involvement, Jun treats it more like a wishlist, for the fans and for himself. Who doesn't want to see more of Ohno's choreography, or Aiba's full-throttle silliness, or Sho in high places, or Nino doing physical labor? It's the five of them together that make their ship sail, and Jun's happy to divvy up the roles, because every single one of them hits back with even more than he's expecting.

Fifteen years is a long time to be doing the same thing with the same people. Jun remembers something Nino said once in an interview about how Arashi's one of the only things he's continued for this long. It should be remarkable to him that they haven't gotten sick of each other yet, that their little group games and inside jokes are still so funny to them and no one else, but it's hard to explain in a way that people other than the five of them would understand.

And maybe the start of something new is exciting to Jun in that way, too. Because they've been together for this long, and they're only here because they've been able to stimulate each other, and they've had the fans to do everything for. So sometimes it isn't even something new as much as it is another way for Jun to enjoy himself and enjoy the others enjoying themselves. Something new begins, and Jun's mind bubbles like a slow-cooking stew, and he can't wait to see how it tastes because he knows he's got the best friends to enjoy it with.

Go ahead, aleena_mokoia!
