[Team Four] Basement
This is a snippet from something bigger I'm working on.
It's based on that scene from season 11 (I think) of Shameless where Ian tells someone that Frank once locked him in the basement. I've used that scene to boil up an AU, kinda.
He remembers seeing him for the first time back when he was six years old. Ian has some vague memories, dreams maybe, of the man from when he was younger but he's not sure if they're real. So the first concrete memory is from when he was six years old.
He's surrounded by darkness, save for the light that squeezes through the sides of the basement door. His back is pressed against it, and it's all flimsy, rotten wood but Ian isn't strong enough to break it. He has tried and tried and tried but the door is locked from the outside and there's no way he'll be able to move it. He's just too small.
Ian's legs are tucked to his chest, his face resting in-between his knees. Ian's done crying. He's not proud of it, not proud of having to cry. First, he cried because he was terrified, then he cried because he was hungry and then he cried because he was terrified. But now Ian has no more tears to cry.
His throat is dry and sore from yelling. He has tried to yell for Frank and Monica, cried for Fiona, and sobbed for Lip but no one has heard him call for them.
He has no idea what time it is nor how long he has been locked down in the basement. His tummy stopped growling a long time ago.
