“I wanna give you love but all I have is rain 🎶”
“The tomatoes lived?” the awe in Juri’s voice overflows, along with surprise. The plant he gave Taiga on one random day is indeed alive, and is actually bearing little fruits. He is in Taiga’s home, washing and drying the dishes after their dinner. Affluent as the Kyomoto household is, the family rarely hires housekeepers for their chores, and Juri insists on helping Taiga in the kitchen. Cooking had been a simple affair of rice and various vegetables, disaster averted-and even better results-with Juri’s help and guidance.
Taiga hits Juri upside the head, and he’s chuckling as Juri fumbles with the plate and the dish towel in the Juri’s hands. He can’t help the smug look on his face, though. “Of course it did.”
“But I still miss the flavor of the ones your mama sends my way,” Taiga continues.
“Just mama’s tomatoes?” Juri asks with a hint of mischief in his face.
Taiga deflates. “We’ve gotten so busy lately that we barely have time for each other like this,” Taiga says with a small pout on his lips.
There’s a tenderness in Juri’s gaze before he leans in to kiss that pout away.
“I know. I miss spending time like this with you, too,” Juri confesses when he pulls away. “I’m sorry we can’t go out like we usually would.
“But even stuck at home like this is enough for me,” Juri continues.
“There are still so many people out there with the virus, and as much as I want to go out with you, I would much prefer keeping you safe,” Taiga replies, tilting his head up for another kiss.
