[Team three] clean your plate

Whoops my fingers slipped and I wrote more of Bakugou and Iida as roommates :D

bnha, g-rated, just a couple hundred words

"Think I could get seconds?" Deku asks, holding up his empty plate with an air of hopefulness.

"No. You should be grateful I allowed you to have firsts," Bakugou scoffs. He emphasizes the point by resting both of his elbows on the table (blatantly ignoring Iida's rule about table manners) and glaring over the top of his folded hands.

"You shouldn't be rude to guests," Iida chides in the his typical stern-yet-good-natured tone that sounds sometimes entirely too much like Bakugou's dad. But he thankfully does not say anything about errant elbows.

"The food was really good, Kacchan. I could stomach another helping," Deku continues earnestly. The days of him cowering from Bakugou's glare are long gone. Now he's just cheeky.

(Bakugou supposes if he's being honest, the days of him being truly angry at Deku are long gone too. But he's not going to drop the old habit over a simple dinner party. Not tonight at least.)

"Well, I'm getting seconds. Never say no to free food," Uraraka declares, getting up from the table. She accidentally floats her plate in the process, scrambling frantically for half a second to keep tiny leftover bits of rice from spilling over the edge.

"Whoops," she laughs.

"Please try not to make too much of a mess," Iida says. "It would be an insult to Bakugou's cooking to waste any food."

"Damn right," Bakugou mutters. Iida should be singing his praises, to be honest. He's been personally benefiting from Bakugou's cooking for a month now. And he should be damn grateful about it because Bakugou has no idea how the guy has survived so long on his own miserable cooking skills.

Bakugou sometimes has nightmares now about the seven-bean salad situation that they've agreed to never speak of again.

"We should have dinners together here more often," Deku persists after Uraraka returns from the kitchen with more food for them both. "Do you take requests for different dishes?"

"Absolutely not," Bakugou replies, and then shoves a spoonful of rice into his mouth angrily so he doesn't voice the rest of his thoughts out loud. (He's already had to put 850 yen into Iida's swear/insult jar this week. He's running out of coins faster than an overly excited kid in an arcade.)

"Is there dessert too?" Uraraka chimes in again, glancing around hopefully even though she's still eating what's left on her plate.

Bakugou wishes his friends hadn't all conveniently been out of town this weekend, so he could at least balance out these idiots with his regular idiots.

"Perhaps we could do semi-regular potluck dinners," Iida muses, circling back to Deku's earlier suggestion. "That would save Bakugou some trouble in having to prepare the whole meal."

"Do any of you losers know how to cook something halfway decent and edible?" Bakugou points out.

Uraraka is the only one who nods vigorously in response, but that may be because she's still hoping for dessert. Iida and Deku are too absorbed in their own conversation which has devolved into critiquing Bakugou's cooking.

"The dishes do get repetitive sometimes," Iida says, gesturing to his empty plate. "The two of us had this same meal just last week."

"You asked for this specifically," Bakugou points out, to no avail.

"Kacchan does tend to rely on his specialties when it's more convenient," Deku nods, like he's analyzing quirks instead of food.

"I didn't see you cook anything tonight," Bakugou sneers. Mostly to cut Deku off from actually launching into some analysis and possibly revealing some embarrassing childhood story.

"Some mochi would be really great right now," Uraraka adds, just to try to corral the conversation back to desserts.

But Bakugou's had enough of these people tonight.

He slams his hand on the table, and swivels his head towards the only guest sitting nearby who'd been quiet the whole evening.

"Do you have anything to add about my cooking while we're on the subject?" he yells.

Todoroki looks up from his plate and shrugs.

"Well, I would have preferred cold soba..."

The whole table dissolves into varying states of open and muffled laughter, while Bakugou just throws his hands up in exasperation.

"Everybody's a critic."

Sorry for these ending words but it was the perfect place to stop! You're up kurosaki_ami
