F is for fate
Miranda did not believe in fate. You made your own destiny, it wasn't laid out for you. She had never wavered from this belief.
Except when it came to Andrea. Because after she had left in Paris, Miranda was sure she would never see the girl again. But time after time, she had popped up in the strangest places. Walking past the building when she was exiting, attending parties for The Mirror, meeting with people for interviews at the same restaurants she was eating at.
Andrea just kept coming back, until Miranda finally took her back. Maybe it was fate.
G is for gravity
Andy never expected seeing Wicked would end like this. From the time 'Defying Gravity' was sung, Miranda was tense and silent, relaxing only briefly during 'For Good', before tensing again.
It took the entire ride home to figure it out. And then it hit her hard. Glinda, who had tried to transform the 'different' girl and ended up befriending her, watched as she left because of her principles, only to come back and leave yet again.
That night, Andy held Miranda tightly. "I'm not going anywhere. I already tried defying gravity. It wasn't any fun without you." Miranda finally relaxed.
H is for homesick
Ever since Dad got remarried, Cassidy didn't like going to stay with him. She'd never gotten homesick before, but she was pretty sure that's what she was now.
Because Dad's was nothing like Home, and Kathryn was nothing like Andy. Kathryn couldn't tell her and Caroline apart. She didn't ask them about school or sing along loudly with Kelly Clarkson or watch movies with them or hide ice cream in the back of the freezer. And she definitely never made Dad smile the way Andy did with Mom.
Before Andy and Kathryn, Dad's had been fine. Now, Cassidy missed Home.
I is for inept
Sometimes she wished that Andrea had never matured past that inept little girl that first found her way into her office. The girl who wore that hideous sweater and couldn't spell Gabbana. If only she had stayed that way.
If only she hadn't been quick on her feet, with an almost insane drive to meet her needs. If only she hadn't saved her at the benefit (twice!) or gotten the Harry Potter book.
If she had stayed inept, Miranda would have had no problem with firing and forgetting her. Instead, she had watched her walk away, unable to forget her.
J is for juicy
The first dinner Andy had with Doug and Lily after she and Miranda 'came out' went something like this.
Silence.
Salads.
More silence.
Main courses.
Doug questioning. "So, what's it like sexing Miranda Priestly up?"
Andy choking on her wine.
"Doug!" Lily reprimanding.
Andy bracing herself.
Lily grinning. "You don't get to know all the juicy details. Those are reserved for girl talk."
"Yes, but this is sex with a woman."
"Which you know nothing about!"
All three bursting into laughter.
Andy knew Miranda wouldn't like it if she kissed and told, but in this case, she was going to.
