Yuletide 2017 Letter
Dear Yuletide writer,
Thank you for signing up and for taking on one of my requests! This is my first ever Yuletide after years of wanting to sign up but never signing up, so I’m super excited.
More than anything, I’m honestly very easy to please. I am most likely going to LOVE your story. So no worries about anything - I will probably love your story, so if you have a brilliant idea and want to take things in a different direction than whatever I have written here, GO FOR IT!
General Notes
I tend to prefer stories that have a relatively positive resolution or some sort of happy ending. A light-hearted tone would be preferred to a darker tone every day. I love character growth and in general character-driven stories. I like both gen fic and romantic fic, but I like stories that focus on some sort of relationship, be it romantic, platonic, friendship, etc. I'm a sucker for soulmate AUs, arranged marriage AUs, stuff where the universe has it figured out and the characters have to play catch up.
Squicks, keep things pretty light and you should do fine. I am strongly opposed to any non-con/dubcon at ALL and this is one of the few things that would make me dislike your story. In general please avoid something that would receive an Archive Warning on AO3.
The Good Place
Characters: Eleanor Shellstrop and Chidi Anagonye
I am kind of obsessed with The Good Place right now, so honestly the promise of more fic exploring this universe is absolutely fine! I love the tone and the feel of this show, so anything approximating that feel will be amazing. I love each and every character on this show so feel free to include any and all of them, but I love Eleanor and Chidi's dynamic so I'd prefer something that focused on the two of them, be it romantic, platonic, etc (though I do ship it so romance would be lovely!). In general I'd prefer a story that takes place within the actual Good/Bad place (or a jaunt to the Medium place) so while I'm OK with AUs I'd prefer things that take place in the afterlife rather than have them be still alive.
Persuasion
Characters: Anne Elliot and Frederick Wentworth
I love these two so so so much, and honestly anything involving them would make me happy. I prefer stories set in the regency era, though I'm fine with AUs within that era. A modern AU would be fine but I prefer regency. In general with this, while I accept that there is period-typical sexism / regressive ideas, I'd prefer not to see that from Anne or Wentworth. I love Austen's tone and would generally prefer a story somewhere close to this.
She Loves Me
Characters: Amalia Balash and Georg Nowack
Ahhh, I love this show so much - I would be happy with most anything involving these two, though involving other characters is just great too. I have a big preference to how the show was performed in 2016 with Laura Benanti and Zachary Levi but if you haven't seen that version, that's fine - the characters as written are great. I'm not a huge fan of modern AUs but if you have a great idea for one then go ahead! Just anything focusing on Amalia and Georg's relationship, either as penpals, working in the shop, or after they've realized they're each other's Dear Friend. Stories set in the Twelve Days to Christmas point are great, and I love stories where Amalia's figured it out before Georg tells her that she's his Dear Friend ("It's what I hoped for, that it was you!")
More than anything, just putting the ffort into this story will make me happy, so just have fun with it! Thank you so much!
