There's a Daniel/Vala fic that's quite similar to this. Daniel and Vala eat the local food (Vala knowing the effects) and are rather "overcome" by the intense sensations.

It's Chrysostom by Tafkar. If you haven't read it (and can stand to read Daniel/Vala), I highly recommend it. It's really well written and another fic with this theme.
