If I ruled the world,
All would be grand.
I would try to be fair,
Try to be nice,
For your sake, not mine,
But all would bow before me.
All I want would be mine
With but a word uttered,
One command given.
All would have to accept me
As ruler, if not as friend.
No one would trouble you.
No one would trouble us.
The freak with the meteor powers
And the latest from the Luthor line.
None could touch us.
None could part us --
Not your so called friends,
Your neighbors or teachers,
Not that world of people
Who think they know better than you
What's best for you,
Not even your parents.
We would be free
To live us as we choose,
To love as we choose,
But then, if I had your love,
If you ever confess your feelings for me,
Those I see every night
Hiding in your shy, sweet, blue eyes,
Those we both try to pass
As merely friendship
Began now between us
That may one day make legend,
I would already have the world.
If I could have your love, sweetheart,
I'd have everything important
I've ever really wanted, but then, too,
I feel that way already every time
Your eyes meet mine and
You give me that sweet smile.
Smile at me, please, Clark.
Give me your smile.
Give me your love, if unspoken.
Give me your world seen in your eyes,
And I have everything,
Because I have you.
