As Natasha pulled up her tights, she ran through the routine in her head. She ran her hand over the tights, ironing out any creases she might have missed. She needed to look nothing short of perfect.
She stood up straight and begin to perform small segments of the routine, ironing out any of the creases that may be there. The dance had to be nothing short of perfect.
Everything had to be perfect for the fight, and the dance, of her life. She couldn’t settle for any less.
She’d be broken by this, if she wasn’t already. She was forced to practise and re-practise until the movement were fluid and smooth, until she could no longer stand. She had performed the routine perfectly time and time again, but she was pushed further.
She stopped mid routine and let out a sigh. She tried to steady her breathing and calm her mind. She felt eyes upon her, but she was stronger than that; she’d perform again here in practise with his eyes upon her, so that’d he see how hard she’d worked, and how much she’d improve by the time she performed it for the final time in the red room.
