As Kyon watched, an electrician removed the face-plate from a power outlet in the SOS Brigade club-room, and gently pulled the outlet assembly from its case.
"See that?" the electrician said. "There's no grounding path. That's dangerous, especially since you're using several computers and an electric heater in here."
"Is this outlet the only ungrounded one?" Kyon asked.
"Nope," the electrician said. "This whole room is ungrounded."
Kyon glanced back at Haruhi. She was white-boarding a complex flow-chart that she had titled 'HOW TO FIND THE ALIENS'- ironically, with Yuki's help.
"Yeah," Kyon muttered, "it's 'ungrounded' in several different ways."
