Cat's eye Prologue

They came in the night, they always came in the night. He remembered from his earliest age being told never go out after dark. They came and they took what they wanted after dark. He barley remembered huddling under the piles of cloths and blankets with his brother. He barley remember his mother’s screams and his father begging for mercy. He could just remember his brother’s terror when they began digging at the floor coming for them. He remembered the arms holding him tight. What he couldn’t remember though was what happened next. It was dark, then bright and then he woke up here. Safe the monster’s of the night gone and a cat sitting at the foot of the bed he lay upon watching him. Another cat lay on the pillow beside his bed purring softly.

He couldn’t even remember his name anymore or his brother’s name. All he knew is that something, felt different, something had changed. And now, he wasn’t who he remembered being any longer. He looked at the cat by his feet its head came up and its ears pricked nicely.

“Hello,” the word wasn’t a sound more like an image in his head.

He felt confused just starring at the cat.

“I said, Hello.” It seemed to look annoyed when he didn’t respond.

“Hello,” He said softly.

The cat by his head rumbled loudly as it kneaded his shoulder. He, hi I’m Trouble,” this image was laced with a image of the cat on his shoulder. Thats, mischief The words were imaged by the tiger stripped cat by his feet.

“Hi,” He said softly. “Where am I?”

“Safe Little one,” The tiger striped one said kindly. “Now rest,”

He lay back slowly his eyes drifting shut, he didn’t understand. He was confused and scared and lost. But he felt safe he really truly did. Safe so safe and warm. He drifted to sleep with the images of chasing birds and mice in his head.
