Today it has been hot.
It was forty five degrees inside - so outside, in the sun, I guess about sixty degrees. I wasn’t out there much - just forays out to feed various animals - calves, chooks, goats. Pretty much since just before New Year, this has been how it is.
Half-way through the day the folks turned up with an abandoned baby billy - very very new and soft and tiny. He’s feeding well. One of my calves, however, is not. Still, it is terribly hot. I don’t feel like eating either.
So the middle of the day is spent in our coolest room - we are nursing along the ageing solar panel and battery set up and eschewing the airconditioning - with dogs and cats trying to stay as cool as possible. This is achieved with wet towels and fans and trying to stay still. It was still well over forty degree at five pm today, so that was a lot of staying still.
I’m out of books, too hot to write or think and, when it is that hot, unable to think of topics I’d like to explore on the net. If anyone has any very great sites of things just to stare please recommend them - child friendly ones, I hasten to add.
