The assignment is to list 10 movies: your 5 favorites & your 5 guilty pleasures. Also include an explanation on why you love these particular movies so much. After you've finished that, pick 5 of your friends and tag them. No tag backs. This explanation should be included.

Favorite Films:
The Shawshank Redemption -- I fell in love with this movie when I saw it, and I can't resist watching it whenever I see that it's on. A great story with a great sidekick in Morgan Freeman, a great bad guy in the warden, and a superb ending. I could watch it all day long.

The Breakfast Club -- The Brat Pack at its finest. Judd Nelson steals the show whenever he's on camera, and I can relate to Anthony Michael Hall a little TOO well even today. My brother and I still go back and forth trading lines of dialogue from this movie, so there's probably a sentimental component to this one as well.

The American President -- Sure, Michael Douglas isn't my all-time favorite actor, and the idea of the evil Republican challenger in Richard Dreyfuss is something I could do without, but for whatever reason, I'm drawn to the love story aspect here between Annette Bening and Douglas. Also, it's got a great line that I love. President Shepherd asks AJ,his chief of staff (Martin Sheen), during an argument, "Why are you always one step behind me?" AJ's reply: "Because if I wasn't, you'd be the most popular history professor at the University of Wisconsin." OUCH!!!!!

A League of Their Own -- Pretty girls kicking butt in baseball, with a half-drunk Tom Hanks as their coach. Plus, Rosie O'Donnell was still funny. Great movie, with one of Madonna's songs I actually LIKE on the soundtrack, "This Used To Be My Playgrond."

Duel -- Steven Spielberg's very first film. Dennis Weaver gets chased all over the desert by a faceless truck driver from hell. Again, whenever it's on, I'm locked onto the screen.

Guilty Pleasures:

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation -- I KNOW Clark Griswold is a moron, and I KNOW Randy Quaid's character is pretty much repulsive, but Christmas isn't Christmas without it!

Independence Day -- Again, Randy Quaid comes into the picture. Just noticed that. Hmm....And ok, I know that aliens coming to earth to annihilate everyone and everything is a bit much to take, and that you can only suspend disbelief for so long, but still, when Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith emerge from the ashes, having saved the world AND Goldblum actually gets his girl back, that's good stuff. Plus, this movie has some of the BEST lines ever...hehe

Aladdin -- Robin Williams. Nuff said.

Cruel Intentions -- Even I don't know why, but this is another one of those movies I HAVE to sit and watch whenever I see it on TV. Truth be told, I've never actually seen it from the very beginning. I always seem to come in at the same part. I need to rent it or something.

Fear -- I'm a very bad person, I know. Reese Witherspoon is hot (might also be why I like Cruel Intentions), and I enjoy watching complete schmucks get beat down when they mess with Daddy's little girl.

So there you have it....and I'm tagging ladyshara, butterflyberry, unicha, warbunny, and elfin_host and anyone else who wants to play....
