Okay, so Stephenie Myer is officially my own role model, idol, whatever you want to call it. And I am officially obsessed with the Twilight series. I finished it yesterday (did I mention that?) and it was so good. It just gets better and better; I feel like the whole story is real, that the characters are so real.
I spent about an hour and a half doing my Biology 80-Question sheet, so I rewarded myself with stalking Stephenie Myer's website. :P Unlike many author sites I've looked at, she wrote in majority of the pages! It's so great to read the author's words yourself just as she is. And I learned that Forks (the amazing location where Twilight takes place) is a REAL place, and all the other places mentioned in Twilight (like La Push, the something Peninsula) are all real places! Forks is in Washington, and the famous meadow scene in Twilight is also real too, in Forks!! Someday when I'm grown up I'm going to take a vacation there and see the place where it all happened. Well. In Twilight, in the book, I mean. xD
I feel like I've found the perfect...I dunno, story. My favorite story. The famous Spiderman and Batman and Superman and The Hulk stories are all very cool, but they never seemed to be what I was looking for. But Twilight...gives me a whole new outlook on fantasy. And the story is so much more realistic than any other fantasy/science fiction/romance story I've ever read. And Edward's definitely the BEST hero. At least in my eyes. =]
"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb."
It's like Romeo and Juliet, only with much more, I dunno, suspense and, GAH, feeling? Such a compelling story with such charming characters. It's really not your average super hero story. There's a lot more to that.
And there's something, I dunno, queer about Twilight. Maybe it's the Cullen family, maybe it's Bella's awkwardness, maybe it's how Forks always rains. I don't know...but the melancholy tone that is depicted all throughout the book just seems to fit me amazingly. I've been longing for such a book like Twilight, that's odd and yet realistic and addictive. It's as if I can say, "Finally."
What I'm all saying is probably making you readers go.."uhh. okay then." Perhaps you're bewildered. Perhaps you think I'm a weirdo and Edward and Bella are taking over my mind. Well, I'm both, but if you've read Twilight, you probably know what I mean. :) Unless you're a sucker for cliche stuff like Superman. Okay, Twilight can be considered a cliche, what with all the romance and vampires, but it's a different kind of cliche. In fact, I think it's safe to say it's a single cliche all by itself.
Watch me this summer. I swear, I'm going to be flying with Edward and Bella fanfictions everywhere. Actually, I think I'm going to check some out on Fanfiction.com right now. ;)
Toodles!
