Just some last minute details:
The Lebanese restaurant. A table is booked for 8.15. I will circulate a couple of menus before the quiz so we can choose what we want beforehand and give them a list as we arrive to speed things up. (There is also an online Menu here if you want a preview). Note that they can't add your drinks to the food bill -- you have to order and pay for your drinks at the bar -- so it might be wise to have cash with you. davidbrider and booster17, I've assumed you're coming, but it's no problem if you're not.
The Buffet. gillo has kindly been liaising with the hotel staff for us, and we've agreed the following menu:
STARTERS -
Soup: butternut squash & parsnip, bread rolls, butter
Mixed leaves, tomato, cucumber, onions, brioche croutons
Feta cheese
Seafood salad
Cold meat selection - ham salami, peppered pastrami
Chicken liver & bacon terrine
MAIN DISHES -
Chicken fillets in tarragon and spinach creamy sauce
Root Vegetable and Herb Wellington (V)
Vegetable Moussaka (V)
Served with steamed vegetables and roast Mediterranean vegetables - courgette, aubergine, onion, peppers
Heritage potatoes with parsley butter
DESSERTS -
Chocolate tart
Forest fruits pavlova
Fresh fruit salad - melons, oranges, grapes,
There will also be wine and soft drinks provided.
Important: If, for some reason, you can't attend the buffet, you need to let the hotel staff know by 11.30 on the Saturday, or you will still be charged for the food.
Saturday Lunchtime. There will be a special menu for us, with a very wide choice, at lunchtime on Saturday, and we will get a 15% discount if we charge the food to our room.
Cocktails. We will have a cocktail menu as usual, and gillo has managed to twist their arm to get us some of our favourites as well as some non-alcoholic options.
Raffle. Don't forget to bring things for the raffle!!
Parking. Car parking is free as part of our special deal. It might be wise to mention it to the staff when you check in and check out.
