So I realize people are still thinking about *this* WriterCon . . .

. . . but tonight antennapedia and I were talking as we filled out our surveys, and we ended up brainstorming possible workshop/panel/roundtable ideas for next WriterCon! Since we're all fresh off this last one and still buzzing about it, I thought it might not be too early to see what everyone else was thinking. The survey does this as well, but of course we can't see each other's survey answers.

The ideas we came up with were the following:

1) Fandom-specific small group fic workshops: Groups of 4-5 people sign up ahead of time and exchange a short-ish (~5k) piece of fanfiction to workshop at a specific time during the con. There could be a special one for drabbles, perhaps, or special ones for kink or porn.

2) A panel/workshop on how to give/receive constructive criticism. I think this should be held prior to the fic workshops, and people attending the fic workshops should be strongly encouraged to attend this panel.

3) A panel on co-writing, with sets of co-writers who could talk about how they found each other, how they work together, what sorts of projects they do together, etc.

4) A discussion/workshop on point of view and how it impacts the story.

5) More technical workshops like the podfic panel, particularly on graphics (icons, manips, banners) or website design. We writers often depend on others for these things, but it'd be cool to be able to do it ourselves!

So! What do you think it would be neat to see at WriterCon 2011?
