I know I said I'd have something intelligent or witty to say this month re:meta/headcanon, but I don't. Right now I am just not in the frame of mind to do basically anything productive. Even now I'm not feeling well enough to express all my concerns as precisely as I'd probably like to.

On behalf of the "FFn side" of the fandom, allow me to give you a hugz. *hugz* Also with the hope that you feel better...I'm STILL not entirely recovered myself. ;_;

That said, I won't demean the LJers or whoever or anything like that, both because I said I wouldn't a while back and it would be hypocritical to do so in this context. I would say, however, that the folks on FFn--or the "gamer" side of the fandom, such as Serenes, or wherever--don't care about the "fic" side's opinion of them. The folks at FFn, both at the Lil' Circle and MewMew's place, are going on having their discussions and generally having a good time while disregarding how bad other people seem to think they are. In fact, virtually all of them don't even know some folks have a low opinion of them in the first place--aside from the rare occasions when an LJer comes by to say something bad about them, FFn folks are content to do their own thing without any regard to what the "BNFs" or whoever think.

So really, while I appreciate the sentiment, brother, I don't think you need to feel it's necessary. Regardless what people on LJ think, people on FFn will get along just fine. So if you see any LJers badmouthin' us in what you think is an unfair way, do what I do--shrug your shoulders and say, "who cares?" ;)

Yeah, I see what you mean. Like I said, this all might just be me being overly sensitive at hearing this stuff over the course of time.

Ideally, everyone would just shrug it off and then we'd all go back to our little corners sequestered from the other parts of the fandom. In a way, that's kind of sad, but most people on both sides seem to have a generally low opinion of the other to begin with. Ah well.

Personally, that would make me a pretty happy man. Sure, as you say, it may not be ideal, but there are worse things than living and let living. ^^
