You know...

It sucks when someone you've recently begun to admire a great deal turns out to be kind of a douche. I mean they're opinion is their opinion. I see that. It's cool. I just wonder if the whole pseudo nonchalance and sometimes mild nastiness will end up being detrimental in the long run.

I've recently gotten into this author's books. Like really into them. I popped online looking for artwork (cause it has to be amazing considering what the artists, if they have talent, have to inspire them) and ended up at the blog. So I read some. I'm also a fan on Facebook. A great deal of their shininess and glitter in my eyes just disappeared.

Who would basically insult and then damn near alienate a potential group of readers or someone with a hell of a lot more clout, money, and a personality that doesn't scathe? I mean if the person with the clout and money walked up to this author and offered to help market, I bet the rights to MY book that said author would be on that shit like white on rice, in a glass of milk, on a paper plate, in a snowstorm.

I wonder what they were like before the series got nominated for so many awards. It's also been established on the blog that they don't care what people think of their writing. Then why did they even send it out for publication? Why not leave the series in a drawer? Sending it out and promoting it seems to show a great deal of care about others' opinions. And how the hell can anything be promoted then their personality needs an adjustment? I hope they have a damn good agent. I'd be scared to go to a book signing for fear I'd end up with assault charges.

So I'm still in love with the series. I'm learning a lot from the writing, but I'm also learning a lot from the the author's stank ass attitude. I'll be glad when the series is done so I can put them behind me. Shouldn't be much longer.
