Well, hey. The shop is all clean and re-stocked, so if they want to pay me to babysit a dead store, WHATEVAH.
Uhm, ok. I heard that Rent is closing, and I'm sincerely very sad for all of you that love it. I never want my friends to lose things they like, But now that it's closing, I feel it may be safe to come out with this admission without suffering too much wrath (please, FList, don't lynch me for this), but I've kept this bottled up for YEARS and it NEEDS to come out now...
I hate RENT. HATE IT. I went to an audition recently and half the people there sang songs from Rent. I wanted to claw out my eardrums. I hate all the music from this show. ALL OF IT. especially that "minutes" song (whatever it's really called). I hate it more than South Pacific and Jesus Christ Superstar. And if you know anything at all about my personal taste in musicals, you'll know what that means (For the WHOvians on my FList, I'll put it in "companion" terms- I feel the same level of loathing for Rent as I feel for Adric. YEAH) I'm sorry FList... I'm so sorry. Because I know some of you are shaking your heads right now going, "Naz, I thought I knew you..." but I just can't help it. I don't like it.
In other musical news, My mother called me yesterday with a surprise...
She bought me tickets to the Omaha performance of Phantom of the Opera.
And these are GOOD SEATS.
I may or may not have cried like a little bitch when she told me. Ok, I did. Bawled my eyes out and had to go in the back room at work to recover, because I have never EVER been able to afford tickets to Phantom when they were available. EVER. They always went on sale at EXACTLY the wrong times (financially). But now I FINALLY get to actually see the musical I've had almost memorized since I was 13.
*Excited beyond the capacity for rational thought*
