Oops! Total my bad. Sorry. Once again, you've caught me writing quickly, somewhat emotionally and/or sleepily, and not being altogether clear, accurate, or precise in my communication. Thank you for always bringing these to my attention!

What I wanted to say is that she looks her age, when she normally doesn't. Which is a little jarring because it reminds me of how old the people I date are. It's been years since I've dated anyone my age but that's always been because the men I end up going out with look younger than they are. Now, there's nothing wrong with an age difference and I'm certainly not going to freak out or re-think my attractions. But it's just weird because even if I make fun of the people I date for being older than me (constantly), that's just a game. I honestly don't ever really seriously think about the age difference and things like this make me do so and it throws me off a little. Not the best way of trying to express that, granted.

As far as the rest, yea, it could be that. Or it could be that he still has me blocked from seeing his status updates (you know in that nifty new privacy setting) but I can still see all the newsy stuff because that comes from an outside source and it's tougher to individually block someone from seeing those. (Not explaining that well, but let's just think of it as content filters).

And I don't particularly think Spidey is gay either.

I'm glad you don't take it as confrontational!

Your explanation makes sense, and I get why you reacted that way. I just think your phrasing kind of reflects the reflexive cultural idea that youth (and skinny) is gorgeous, to the point of some models and actresses trying to look prepubescent. Like most implicit cultural messages, the first way to fight it is to be conscious of it.

From what I've heard, FB has privacy settings so that they can lull people into a false sense of security, then they change them and "accidentally" set everything to public.
