Word Count: ~9600
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Taydammy (Taylor Green/Adam Lambert/Tommy Ratliff)
Warnings: M/M/M sex, strong language, RPS slash
Notes: If you don't like it, don't read it.  Constructive criticism is always welcome, flames however, are not.
Authors Notes: Oh my god guys, I'm actually posting something...which is shocking because I'm a lurker to the extreme, and also because I rarely ever actually finish any fics I actually start.  I have only written smut once before, so I hope this is alright :S  Like I said above though, constructive criticism is welcome, as are comments :)   Also, for those who have bothered to keep reading the author's notes instead of just skiping to the story, I know this is a really random plot, and that it has been done before, but just go with it please :)

DISCLAIMER: This is not true!  I do not know these people, anything that comes close to resembling the truth is just a happy coincidence.  I mean no harm or disrespect for

Special thanks to darkangel86_07 who held my hand and supported me through this, and encouraged me to actually post it!  Thanks bb, couldn’t have done it without you <3

Taylor had noticed he had been feeling off for a few days, but he wrote it off as being tired from the tour.  They had been travelling for almost a month already, and had another two to go on the American leg alone.  At the rate he was going, Taylor was afraid he wasn’t gonna make it that long.

“Hey kid” Monte dropped down next to Taylor on the couch he had been resting on before the show was supposed to start.  “You doing alright?”

Taylor shrugged “Been feeling off for a while.  No big deal”

Monte looked concerned and put his hand up to Taylor’s forehead “You getting sick man?” he chuckled as Taylor swatted at his hand half-heartedly.

“Naw, probably just tired.  I’ll be Ok” Taylor told his friend, although he was not entirely sure of his own words.

“Alright, let someone know if you feel worse though” Monte told him, before getting up and wandering off, while Taylor closed his eyes until it was time to go onstage.

Dancing on stage with Adam was always a challenge for Taylor, because Adam demanded attention, making it hard for Taylor to concentrate sometimes.  Tonight though, the moment Adam burst on stage, Taylor felt his heart jump in his chest, and start to beat so hard he thought it would break right through his ribs.  He started to sweat and his breath was catching in his throat so badly that he missed his first cue and tripped over Sasha before falling down gracelessly onto his back.  The last thing he saw before he succumbed to the unconscious was Adam’s concerned face hovering over his own.

When he came to, Taylor had to close his eyes against the bright lights that were directly above his head.  He was just about to attempt to open them again when a voice spoke to his right.

“Welcome back Mr. Green.  You gave everyone quite a scare.  I’m Dr. Gordon”

Taylor finally blinked his eyes open and saw a middle-aged woman with greying hair and kind eyes hidden behind thick, plastic framed glasses staring down at him.  She smiled at him, and placed a soothing hand on his shoulder.

“Now, don’t you worry Taylor, we’re taking good care of you.  You are at the Charlotte General Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, and you fainted at your concert tonight.  All we know so far is that when the paramedics got to you, you were short of breath and had a very rapid heartbeat.  Now, I’ve drawn blood to run some tests, and I think I know what is going on, but I’m waiting on a specific test result before I can be sure.  So, can you please sit up for me?”

With the help of the doctor, Taylor moved so that he was sitting on the side of the bed, with his feet hanging off the side.  His face flushed when he realized that someone had changed him out of his costume and into a hospital gown.

“I promise you, you’ve got nothing I hadn’t seen before” Dr. Gordon said with a kind chuckle as she puttered around, checking his pulse, temperature and lungs.  “Now, tell me, how are you feeling?”

Taylor took a moment to self-evaluate before he answered honestly.

“Like I’m about to crawl out of my own skin.  I can’t sit still, my head is swimming, and I feel like I need to do something...I don’t know what it is though.  Just - just something.  I was feeling off the last few weeks, but I thought I was just tired” he admitted, and Dr. Gordon nodded knowingly.

“Ok Taylor, why don’t you just lie down again for a little while, and I’ll get your test results as soon as I can” the kind doctor ran her hand over Taylor’s hair in a motherly fashion, before helping him to get situated, then leaving the room.  Taylor curled into a ball on his side, tucking his hands in between his knees to try and stop the fidgeting he couldn’t seem to control.  With a weary sigh, he closed his eyes and went over choreography in his head to try and ignore the thrumming under his skin that was slowly driving him mad.

Meanwhile, Adam’s show had gone on without Taylor.  However it was by far the worst show of the tour, since no one could concentrate and their hearts just weren’t into it.  As soon as they could get off the stage, everyone bombarded Lane, trying to find out about Taylor and his well-being.  After a few brief seconds of chaos, Monte stuck two fingers in his mouth and whistled shrilly, causing everyone to stop talking and look at him.

“Everyone shut up and let Lane tell us what she knows” he said, then turned his attention to Lane, everyone else following his lead.

“Ok guys, Taylor is alright.  He is at the local hospital for observation and tests.  As soon as they know what caused him to faint, someone will call me.  For now they ask that we don’t come in, because they won’t let us see him until they have a diagnosis, and they don’t want you guys to cause a riot in the waiting room.  So we are going to pack up, and go back to the busses just like usual.  No arguments” She said sternly to Adam, who froze with his mouth halfway open for what was probably going to be a protest.  He sheepishly closed his mouth and waved for her to continue “Now, it was a hotel night anyway, so we’ll stay here tonight, and hopefully know more by morning.  If we do not, then Taylor will stay behind until we do know more, and will meet up with us when he can.  Either way I think we should prepare for a Taylor-less show tomorrow.  Can you three manage without him again?” She directed this question at Brooke, who nodded yes.  “Good, now, let’s all get packed up and onto the busses.  I swear to let you all know as soon as I find out more”

The group dispersed at Lane’s insistence, breaking into smaller groups to change out of their costumes and get ready for a hotel night.  Adam turned from his assistant, and immediately sought out the arms of his boyfriend, and bass player, Tommy.  The smaller man instantly appeared by his side and was burrowed into his chest, giving Adam a much-needed hug.  Sighing, Adam sunk into the familiar embrace of his lover, and wrapped his arms around him, both taking reassurance and comfort from the other.

“He’s going to be ok” Adam said, both to Tommy and to himself “He has to be Ok”

“Of course he’s going to be Ok.  That kid is resilient as fuck” Tommy said, pulling back to give Adam a shit eating grin.  “Remember back in rehearsals when he fell off the stage and crashed into a row of chairs?  He got back up and kept on dancing.  He’s not gonna let something small like fainting get him down” Tommy slid his hand down to intertwine his fingers with Adam’s, and started walking to their dressing room.

“But what if it’s not just fainting.  What if it’s something worse?”

“We’re not gonna think about that” Tommy told Adam as he shut the door to their private dressing room, flicking the lock shut as he went.  “You’re gonna let me undress you, and do a few unmentionable-in-public things to take your mind off of things before we have to go to the hotel”

The crease in Adam’s forehead, which only appeared when he was concerned, disappeared at Tommy’s words, his eyebrow quirking in intrigue.  “Oh, and what did you have in mind?”

Tommy grinned and shucked his jacket off as he backed Adam into the chair in front of his make-up mirror.  “You just leave that up to me babyboy, just leave that up to me”

Twenty minutes later, Adam and Tommy were the last to stumble towards the bus, their clothes haphazardly thrown on, and their hair and makeup in complete disarray.  No one said anything, but several people rolled their eyes or muttered under their breath, while Adam looked properly chagrined, and Tommy grinned with a smug air of satisfaction.  Just as they were about to climb on the bus, Lane rushed over, and pulled Adam and Tommy to the other side of the bus.

“Lane? What’s wrong, is it Taylor?” Adam asked, a wave of panic hitting him hard.

“Yes, but it’s going to be ok, they know what’s wrong with him”

“Oh, thank god” Tommy breathed a sigh of relief, sagging over into Adam, who wrapped an arm around his waist, holding him close.

“Well, yes it’s good that they know, but here is where we run into the problem.  It seems that Taylor has bonded”

“Holy shit!” Adam and Tommy both exclaimed.

***

“No, this can’t be right, I can’t have bonded, I’m straight!” Taylor exclaimed, pacing back and forth in front of Dr. Gordon, wringing his hands together.

“I know this is a lot to take in Taylor, but these tests, combined with your symptoms, are conclusive.  You have bonded with someone; most likely someone you work with, and have been around enough to start the chemical reaction that jump starts your symptoms.  We need to find out which of the men on your tour you’ve bonded with”

Taylor ran a hand over his face, sighing deeply, “I keep telling you, I can’t have bonded.  Only gay men bond, and I like girls”

Dr. Gordon nodded, but remained unconvinced “I know you feel that way Taylor, and you very well may be bisexual, but there are no straight bonds.  It just doesn’t work that way.  Now we need to figure out who you’ve bonded to.  Is there someone you’ve been more focused on lately, someone who attracts your attention any time he walks in the room.  Maybe when he touches you, even just casually, it makes you feel more calm and relaxed?”

Taylor suddenly stopped pacing, stunned still for a moment, as the description of what it would feel like to be around his bonded sunk in.  He knew who it was.

“I-the only person I can think of, makes everyone feel that way though.  I mean, it’s just his personality”

“But has that feeling intensified.  You said you’ve been feeling off for weeks now.  Did you feel better when you were with this person in particular?  Did you find yourself seeking him out more than anyone else?”

“Yes” Taylor whispered, the despair evident in his voice.  “I can’t do it, I can’t bond to him, it will ruin everything.   His career, his relationship, everything”

Dr. Gordon wrapped her arms around the trembling young man, rubbing his back gently.  “I know this is hard, that is why bonds usually take place when a person is older.  Now, who is the person you suspect you’ve bonded to?”

“Adam” Taylor managed to get out in an anguished voice, as the tears started to fall from his eyes. “God, I’ve bonded on Adam”

“Ok Taylor, just calm down, I’m going to call the young woman I’ve been corresponding with all night, Lane, was it?  I’ll call her, and have her and Adam meet us at your hotel, so that we can discuss things a little, and then you two can get down to it, before it’s too late”

“Wait, too late?  What do you mean?”

“Well you know how you’re feeling now?” Taylor nodded “If you don’t mate with your bonded soon, once the symptoms come to a head, like yours did tonight, you will continue to experience these symptoms, and eventually go mad.  If we had caught this earlier, there could have been time to use preventative calm the symptoms until you were both emotionally prepared to do so, but since you didn’t know, and it was left so long, you have to mate with Adam soon or the consequence will be dire”

“Hold up, what do you mean by mate?  You don’t mean-”

“I mean sex, Taylor.  I mean that the person you’ve bonded with has to be the top to your bottom.  It’s got to be that way or the bond won’t be sealed.  And once the bond is sealed, you’ll have to live out the rest of your life in fairly close physical contact with your bonded”

“How close are we talking here?”

“Well for the first year it will be hard to be away from him for more than a few hours to a day at a time.  After that it gets easier to be away for longer periods of time.  I know of a couple who have bonded, and he can be away from his partner for up to a month before he gets a little loopy and they need to re-bond”

“Oh” Taylor looked defeated, “But, what about Tommy?  Adam has a boyfriend”

Dr. Gordon sat back down in her chair, and allowed Taylor to keep pacing around to help alleviate the jitters he had.

“Well that will be between the three of you.  There is no harm in a third party partaking in the mating rituals, so long as the proper events occur between the bonded and the person he has bonded to at some point during the transaction”

“God, you make it sound so technical, aren’t you supposed to be selling me on this or something” Taylor snapped, then glanced up at the doctor with an apology in his eyes “Sorry, I don’t know what I’m saying.  I’m just so - God I just don’t know I can hardly think about anything, let alone the fact that I have to do this life altering thing, with a guy I work for, while his boyfriend can do nothing about it, but maybe jump in, if that is what he and his boyfriend want”

“Well, would you like me to tell Lane to have Tommy be in the meeting with us?”

“Yes, I need to tell him that I didn’t do this on purpose” Taylor said, before hopping up and down a few times, shaking himself out “Can we go soon please?  I don’t care what it is we go do, I just, I can’t-Jesus Christ I” He started pulling at his hair again “I need Adam” he finally said, sitting back down on the small hospital bed.  “I need to get to Adam”.

***

Dr. Gordon smiled at the admission from her young client that told her he was finally starting to come to terms with at least some of the aspects of his condition.

“Ok Taylor, you can get back into your street clothes, or, well your costume in this case” She said with a smile, that Taylor half-heartedly returned “I’ll go call Lane.  Come out when you’re done and we’ll be on our way”

Taylor nodded, and was scrambling back into his clothes so fast he nearly fell over twice.  Once he was fully clothed, even though they were his wild concert clothes, he ventured out into the hospital’s hallway, where he saw Dr. Gordon talking discretely into her cell phone.  He overheard a few words, and that alone was enough to make him blush.  Words like “consummate” and “condoms” was all he needed to hear before he started to zone out and focus on the way that his body was rebelling against him.  He felt worse than that time he mixed weed with beer, and at that time he had thought he was going to die, so that put things into perspective for him.  He felt too hot all over, like he had a sunburn, but his skin was itching, as if it wanted to move on its own accord, and his muscles were so tense that he couldn’t sit still for long because it hurt him to do so.  Finally, once he was done documenting all the things that felt wrong about him, Dr. Gordon was finished with her phone call, and she was leading him down random hallways until the fresh night air hit him in the face and he instantly felt a little better.

“There, does that help you clear your head a little?” Dr. Gordon asked

“Yeah, it helps.  Can we stay out here a while?” Taylor asked, inhaling deeply, then jumping up and down a few more times to try and shake loose his muscles.

“No honey, we need to get you to the hotel now.  You’re losing your ability to focus, and I can imagine you feeling rather uncomfortable right now, so we need to get this show on the road”

Taylor nodded, and felt himself getting man-handled into the waiting car that he hadn’t noticed before, but then the rest of the trip to the hotel was a blur.  All Taylor remembered was the window being open, and a soothing hand holding his, and a voice telling him to hold on.  Once they arrived at the hotel, Dr. Gordon helped Taylor out of the car, and into the building through a back door, where they took the service elevator up to the 12th floor, so that they could avoid any people who recognised Taylor.   Dr. Gordon knocked on a random door, and Taylor looked at her strangely.

“This isn’t my room” he told her matter of factly, before Lane opened the door.

“I know honey, it’s alright” Dr. Gordon led Taylor into the suite that Lane had prepared.  She lead Taylor through the living area, and into a closed off bedroom.  There were suitcases and clothes spread everywhere, and Taylor could see through the slightly ajar door that the bathroom counter was completely full of cosmetics and hair products.

“Where are we?” Taylor asked, sounding dazed.

Dr. Gordon gave a gentle push so that Taylor would sit down on the bed, then she looked around for a moment and picked up a few pieces of clothing from the suitcase.

“We’re in Adam’s room Taylor.  I want you to put these on” She passed him a pair of sleep pants and a sweatshirt that, when he put them up to his nose, smelled like Adam.  “Adam is going to be here soon, ok?  I’m going to talk to him and Tommy for you, and then he’s going to come and make you feel better.  For now, just put on the clothes, and try and get some rest”

***

Dr. Gordon shut the door to the bedroom quietly, allowing Taylor to change and get into bed.  Then she turned around to face the living room area of the suite, where, sitting on one of the two couches and three chairs that surrounded a large coffee table, was Adam, with Tommy curled up beside him.  Both looked up when she walked in, and Adam was on his feet immediately.

“Hi everyone, I’m Dr. Gordon, I’m a specialist in bonding, and I’ve been Taylor’s doctor this evening.  Thank you for getting here so quickly.  I know this is a very confusing situation, and it makes everyone feel very emotional and often defensive, but we need to act quickly if we want Taylor to make it to the other side unscathed”

“What do you mean?  Is he Ok?” Tommy asked from his place still on the couch, eyes darting around as if the younger man would suddenly appear out of nowhere.

“Well, he’s resting in the other room, wearing some of Adam’s clothes.  I hope you don’t mind, but I borrowed a pair of pyjama pants and a sweater from the top of your suitcase Adam” She said, not bothering to wait and see Adam’s response “Taylor is better now that he is in the same room as some of Adam’s things, and that you are in such close proximity, but we need to get the bond completed as soon as possible so that he can stop suffering from the symptoms like he is right now”

Adam looked shocked and slowly sunk back down next to Tommy “What can I do to help?  I know Lane said he bonded to me, and that it was weird because he thought he was straight, and because he’s so young, but...well I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.  I don’t mean to sound vain, but how does this affect me?”

Dr. Gordon smiled fondly, and nodded when Lane suddenly excused herself to take a phone call, leaving the two men alone with Dr. Gordon.

“Well, why don’t we sit down and I can explain some things to you”

Adam glanced over at Tommy, who snuggled closer to his boyfriend, and addressed the room “Just so you know, I’m not going to be an ass about this” he told the room “I have a friend who bonded back home, and I know what it’s like if he wasn’t around the guy he bonded to.  I know it wasn’t Taylor’s fault, but we can talk about all that later”

Dr. Gordon smiled approvingly at Tommy, and then looked over to Adam “Taylor is not working at his full mental capacity right now Adam.  His thoughts are all muddled, and he has a slew of various physical symptoms that are making him very uncomfortable right now.  Once he gets into physical contact with you, it will help significantly.  He’ll be more coherent than he is right now, and the physical symptoms should dissolve for a short while so that you three can talk about how you would like to go about the mating process”

Dr. Gordon then went on to explain, in detail, the same things she had informed Taylor of earlier that evening, and both Tommy and Adam were finally able to fully understand how much of an impact this was going to make on their lives.

“Okay, this is a lot to take in right now” Adam said, letting a whoosh of air out of his lungs as he slumped back into the couch.  “So he’s basically going to be dependent on me for the rest of my life?”

“Yes, that is essentially correct” Dr. Gordon confirmed, “But the bond normally only takes place when there is an attraction between two people on a chemical level.  It isn’t supposed to be a hardship on either of the two involved to be a part of a bonded pair”

Tommy smirked and had to duck to avoid getting smacked upside the head by Adam, who was glowering.

“Well that is absolutely true.  Adam already confessed to having the hots for Taylor weeks ago” Tommy told Dr. Gordon “And to be honest, who wouldn’t?  He’s a good looking guy, he’s sweet as hell, and I don’t really think it’d be a hardship to have him around for the rest of our lives”

At Tommy’s words, Adam whipped around and gaped at Tommy for a moment.

“We didn’t even talk about it...but you want to stay with us?  I mean, I have to stay with Taylor, and I of course want you to stay, but it’s your choice Glitterbaby.  Will you stay with the two of us?  Can we be a three of us?” Adam asked, cupping Tommy’s cheek in his hand and stroking it with his thumb.

Tommy leaned into Adam’s hand as if he were being petted like a cat, letting an appreciative noise fall from his lips.  “You’d have to drag me off kicking and screaming to make me leave” Tommy told the younger man, gracing him with a kiss.  “It never even crossed my mind to want to.  I just figured we’d integrate Taylor into what we already have, and learn to love each other.  We’re all practically there anyway, so no big deal”

Adam went back in for another, deeper, kiss than before, and then pulled Tommy over for a proper hug.  “You are the most amazing man ever.  Thank you for not making me choose”

Tommy smiled into Adam’s neck, letting his boyfriend get re-centered before they carried on with the conversation.

Dr. Gordon cleared her throat after a few minutes of silence.  “As I said, this is a very emotional time for everyone, but we do have a bit of urgency.  I’m going to go now, and I’ll leave my card with Lane.  If you have any questions, please call me at any time.  If not then I’ll call and check in with Lane in about two weeks to see how everything is going.  What the two of you need to do now, is go in there and take care of Taylor.  Don’t rush him, but make sure that the actual mating does occur sometime tonight.  I know it’s late, but it is necessary” the kind older woman stressed, making firm eye contact with both Adam and Tommy, who nodded their assent.  “Alright, call me if there are any problems.  Good night boys, and have fun” she winked saucily at Adam and then slipped out the door into the hotel hallway, leaving Adam and Tommy staring at the place where she had just stood.

“I like her” Tommy declared after a moment’s silence, nodding his head, as if that decided that.

Adam rolled his eyes at his very strange boyfriend, and then wrapped his arm around Tommy’s slim waist as the small man quipped.  “Alright my dear, we’ve got a young man to seduce”

Adam chuckled good naturedly, but turned sombre again after a moment.

“Ok, in all seriousness now, you’re sure you’re alright with this Tommy?” Adam had to double check

“Yes love, I’m sure, now come on, we need to get you in with Taylor like, five minutes ago” Tommy insisted, leading Adam towards the bedroom door.
