so last night tyler and i went dumpster diving, and it was the most lucrative (is that the right word?) dumpster diving i have ever been on or heard of. the list goes from ok to cool to amazing to ridiculous. get ready.
so first we found a wicker chair, and that was pretty cool. it's in good shape. we stashed it in some bushes, i should go get it today.
then we found some snowboard boots, really nice ones, along with the bindings that go with them. pretty nice ones, too, i kid you not.
then we found a bunch of lame broken stuff.
but then we went to a dumpster where this girl had thrown away her CHECK BOOK. we kept looking and found a really nice 2006 day planner (never used) along with a pencil case full of cool art supplies, then a whole bunch of gift cards, which we thought wouldn't be worth anything but we went to tyler's room to check on his computer anyways. we threw the check book back in; no good was going to come of it. so then we checked our five or six gift cards and they had fifty dollars on them accumulatively, at starbucks, blockbuster, barnes and noble (thirty dollars here on two separate cards) and target. it was amazing. so tyler kept all but the starbucks one, because he pulled them out of the dumpster and i think the rule is that if you pull it out, its yours.
then we went to the big barrels where you put clothes and we found tons that we're going to take to buffalo exchange and hopefully make money off of.
then we went to more dumpsters and i found a cool vase and stuff.
then we went to one more, where tyler fished out a cd notebook. it had tons of playstation games that we're going to sell (along with the snowboard boots and bindings) and we look through it and in the back is someones cell phone info and inside that is their SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. uh huh. someone is a fucking idiot. i am going to save his ass and send it in. though he may not deserve it.
yep. amazing dumpster diving. we'll be going more this week. we also want to get a bunch of people in fort collins and have a dumpster scavenger hunt. that would be fun.
