I have seasonal mailaise too, but I'm also getting bored and dissatisfied with my big bang. It is SO close to being done, but I just want to get it over with and move on to the next thing. Part of it is that the idea is so big, I'm sure I've not done it justice, and the other part is just a desire to be done with it and go to something new. I also don't like that I haven't posted in a long time as I crave that kind of encouragement. My next project is lawyer!Bill and that will definitely be going up chapter by chapter. I'm so looking forward to the possibilities of that universe and I could use some squee/encouragement to get me there. I just want to feel that someone finds what I'm doing interesting.

Sometimes you have to be distracted. You know, give into it a little bit. Maybe write some of the idea that's competing for your attention. The release can be good both for your sanity and your current project!

I think I will. Part of it is ten-days-from-posting panic, but I think I'm going to give myself at least tonight off and play with lawyer!Bill. Just now in the car, I got a very strong image of young!soldier Saul and student!Bill having a missed connection in a bar and I think that has to be my prologue. (They won't meet properly until the canon timeline but I like the idea of the almost.)

It really is weird, isn't it? Especially since it's the same characters. I feel a bit silly telling Saul I'm bored of him because I'd rather go play with... other Saul.

I would love to hear more about your story! I think you've mentioned the basics -- is it related to Pegasus or am I thinking of something different?

And lawyer!Bill is definitely so intriguing. Will you be drawing on Caprica for some backstory??

The Pegasus fic was Voice From the Dark... or you mean my upcoming Western retelling of the Pegasus arc. That's something else. :D I have way too many bunnies, don't I?

This is for fixitstory. It's Saul taking command of Galactica after Bill has a heart attack.

I am SUPER excited for lawyer!Bill. Definitely drawing on Caprica - Bill has a better relationship with his dad and follows in his father's footsteps as a somewhat notorious defense attorney. I think it makes sense for the character - I can see Bill's bleeding heart be used for that purpose. He'll survive the attacks and conflict with Galactica's commander, Saul. :D

Ah, yes, you did mention you were writing something about Bill taking over Galactica. That is such a great time -- I would love so see Saul be more successful in his tenure as commander. COOL!

Lawyer!Bill is just a bunny. It was actually inspired by a pic of EJO from West Wing, where he wears a suit. I thought handsome suit!Bill has to be a story. :D

Btw, I have always loved your Saul especially, but both your Bill and Saul are wonderful, so in character and yet so outside of the canon sometimes, that I don't even know how you manage to convince me every time I read them. It's just so obvious you love them so, that you sell it all to em.

It has Saul in command after Bill has a heart attack following Kara's death. I totally will send it to you. I could definitely use some more encouragement/feedback.

There comes a point in every project where a person can see the end, and working on it is less exciting, and it's so hard to push through that last step over the finish line.

I'm sure it will be a great story. And if you're not satisfied with it, you can always revisit - write more, write a sequel, submit it for remix...

You can always check in with me. Bill and Saul may not be my favorite characters, but I love your Bill and Saul, and though I might not be as critically articulate as someone else, I can encourage you when you need another perspective.
