I think I sound more dissatisfied than I am. Disillusioned maybe is more accurate? I'd hoped to get through it faster. That's just not my reality, and when I'm not comparing myself to other people (never a good idea anyways), I'm okay with that.

I worry sometimes that I'm so focused on doing things my way that I'm maybe shooting myself in the foot, but... I'm trying to trust my instinct on how this story has to happen, and on this story needing to be what I work on now, even if it slows down the bigger picture.

I love Pinterest for visuals. So cool to have somewhere to check in with those things. I have one for my mystery and two more inspiration boards. It's fun.

I really, really need to submit a suggestion for nested boards. Right now, I have a different board for each character, and other boards for other things, and... I want to group them. By book, mostly. But whatever. It is a neat tool, and I'm glad I took the plunge. And also that I've managed to stay on task while I use it, rather than getting lost in it.

Pinterest is my most successful internet venture in many ways. In the beginning I could get sucked down the rabbit hole, but I've evened out and find it really useful for a lot of different things, from writing to recipes to sewing projects. It's kind of a surprise really.

And I discovered with Harlowe's story that I frequently need a picture of I'm going to describe something well at all. So having used Pinterest for that, early, it was a tool before it could be an escape.

I resisted Pinterest for the longest time because I was afraid of the rabbit hole aspect. Now, I'm glad I gave it a chance.
