I have a question...
I'm getting my mystery ready for cold readers, going through from the beginning to make sure my style is consistent. I grew more confident as I wrote. A big part of that is thinning description and internal monologue. I have discovered a couple of sections that I don't think I need, but I'm not sure. They're not redundant or wandering - two things that are pretty automatic cuts - but they interrupt the flow of the action.
So here's my questions. Can I, should I mark these sections as "removable" for cold readers? Part of me thinks this goes against the concept of cold reading, that I should have the story finished. But this other part of me is desperately afraid that these sections won't be considered as critically as I fell they should be right now.
