Well I haven't updated since May, so I figured I ought to clue folks in on what's been happening in my life. So far, summer is great. Fuck that. Summer is awesome. This is the best summer I've had in years. I'm working steady hours at a job I love with great coworkers, Jae and I have a kitten and an awesome downtown apartment, I can afford pretty much everything I need and I'm legally able to drink in bars. Kick ass.
On the Div III front, I've totally lost all my momentum and am coming to terms with the fact that it's going to be a very different project than I intended. But really, I'm not going to let this take over my life. It's my last year of college and I want to enjoy myself- I could easily turn my Div III into a doctoral dissertation and I'm not going to let it happen. I'm going to do it, do a great job, use it to secure something like a career, learn a lot about something that interests me, and I'm going to have my final meeting the day before Spring Jam and ring the bell before disappearing for the rest of the day into the beer tent. That's the plan.
Sickness- I'm feeling much better, due in part I think to the fact that I can finally get enough sleep every night. If I have to go to bed at nine, then I do; I don't have homework or mod meetings or anything else to stay up for. I'm biking into work almost every day, which is eight miles in and eight miles back- I may never be totally healthy, but if I'm the type of healthy that can bike sixteen miles a day, that's fine with me. Most of my symptoms are less exhaustion related and more to do with joint pain and stiffness (only when I'm not biking), including the continued inability to stand or walk for longer than half an hour. I've tried to start swimming, but for some reason twenty minutes in the pool totally saps me of all the energy I thought I had and I'm ruined for the rest of the day. Also I'm bruising really easily and I haven't had less than three canker sores at a time for at least three weeks. So I'm not "cured" but I am better and I think I'm really on my way out of this one. Finally.
Oh yeah, and now we have cable and internet in the house. However it's not wireless internet so only one of us can be on at a time. I'm really out of the habit of being on AIM and skype and all that, but I'm going to try to get back into it. It's good to be wired.
div iii,
lyme,
updating for the sake of updating,
summer
