I'm horribly jetlagged, not sleeping well, and it's been tricky to read through this. I apologize for any lapses in quality or ypos. My brain starts to switch off by 4 pm/16:00 because I'm wide awake around 4 am. Ah, jetlag. How I hate you.

Summary: Asagi and Ruiza insist that Hide-Zou come to a Halloween party with them. The party is too dull for Hide-Zou's liking and he's considering leaving when a beautiful redhead joins him at the bar. Tsunehito's arrival starts their 48 hours together.
Author's Comment: Wasn't sure I'd end up getting this done or not. I started it when I was in Japan by writing the first two chapters when I was traveling. It was supposed to be a six or seven chapter fic but I decided that was too much and it wouldn't hold my interest for that long. So I cut it down to two chapters and because I wrote it on my phone, editing has been a nightmare. I'm glad to have the first half done at last though. This story has been sitting around since April.
“What are you doing on Halloween?” Ruiza asked, flopping down on the couch next to Hide-Zou.
“Uh, nothing.” He’d probably watch a movie or two. Eat pizza. Play video games. Maybe drag himself to the gym if he felt like working out. Which he should if he wanted to maintain his muscles. Lounging and a possible workout were the extent of his Halloween plans.
“Sounds boring.”
Hide-Zou blinked as Ruiza shoved a crumpled flyer in front of his nose. “What’s this?” And where had it come from?
“You can read.”
Hide-Zou gave Ruiza a dirty look. “You’re such a brat.” He heard Asagi giggling from the kitchen in response to that. Everyone, including his lover, knew Ruiza was a brat. Fortunately for him, he was a loveable one. Hide-Zou snatched the flyer so he could read it. It was an advertisement for a Halloween party at some club in Shinjuku. “I take it this is your Halloween plan?”
“Yeah.” Ruiza shifted into a more comfortable position on the couch. “Asagi and I already bought costumes. You should come with us, you need to get out and do something. Maybe you’ll meet someone at the party.”
Hide-Zou lowered the flyer. “Go with you two… could be hazardous.” He smirked at Ruiza’s confused look. “I know you, Rui-chan. You and Asagi will wear sexy costumes to seduce each other. I can already feel the ‘fuck me’ vibes coming off of both of you. You want to expose me to that?” He tried to put a humorous spin on saying he didn’t want to be the third wheel.
Blushing, Asagi came over to join them. “Hide-Zou! We wouldn’t do that.”
“So you didn’t buy sexy costumes?”
“Well…” Asagi trailed off.
Hide-Zou rolled his eyes. “I’ll leave the party for you two. I don’t even have a costume anyway.” Halloween was next week so it’d be a pain to find a good costume in time. Also, since Hide-Zou was currently unemployed, he felt like he shouldn’t waste money on a costume. Even though he loved to dress up. “Besides, I’ll be the awkward third wheel if I come with you.”
Asagi sat down on the couch. Ruiza, instead of moving over to give his lover space, decided Asagi’s lap would be more comfortable. Asagi looked amused then slid his arms around Ruiza’s waist. “Like Rui-chan said, you could always find someone at the party. I met Rui-chan at a party.”
Hide-Zou grinned. “Is that the same night you lost your cat shirt and kept whining about it?”
Asagi flushed as Ruiza laughed. “Let’s not talk about that.” He coughed then brushed his hair back. “Why don’t you come with us for two hours? If you’re bored, you can go home. But you’ll at least get out and do something instead of lying on the couch watching DVDs or playing video games.”
He had a point there.
Hide-Zou sighed. “Fine, I’ll come with you. But you’ll have to help me find a good costume.”
Ruiza nodded. “We’ll go shopping tomorrow.”

“You’re going to freeze your thighs off,” Hide-Zou said, smirking at his scantily clad friends. His exposed thigh was also cold but he was wearing far more clothing than them. It’d taken a while, but Hide-Zou found a red and gold pirate costume he liked. Complete with eye patch and wig. Getting used to the eye patch was a pain in the ass but if he turned the right way, he didn’t have to see his friends.
Asagi rubbed his arms. “We’ll manage.”
“You sure? You look like you’ve stepped out of a military themed porno.” Or they were competing over who could look as whorish as possible. Ruiza was easily the winner with his stomach-baring shirt, tiny shorts, and high boots. Asagi was at least wearing more clothes although he was showing off too much thigh and had bright red lipstick on.
Ruiza smirked. “Maybe that’s the look we were going for.” He grinned then stepped closer to Asagi. The blonde slid his arms around his lover’s waist so they could share warmth. “Not much longer before we can go inside.”
Hide-Zou didn’t pay attention to Asagi’s response because wild, red hair had distracted him. The hair belonged to the most attractive redhead he’d ever seen. His skimpy pirate costume showed his gorgeous body off so well. Small, slender, but he had amazing legs. Hide-Zou’s eyes lingered on his pierced belly button before looking up at his gorgeous face. The redhead wore a little too much makeup but that didn’t detract from his looks at all.
Reluctantly, he looked away when Ruiza called his name.
“Found someone you like?”
The club door opening prevented Hide-Zou from responding.
*
“You look bored,” the bartender said to Hide-Zou. She was dressed as a fairy and had gossamer green wings that matched her short dress, glitter on her skin, and heavy makeup. She raised the bottle of vodka in her hands to shake it a little. “Want another drink?”
Hide-Zou glanced at the empty beer bottle in front of him. He’d finished his first beer, polished off a second, and was considering getting a stronger drink. Or leaving. “Sure. I’ll have a gin and tonic.”
The bartender nodded. “Coming right up.” She turned away, leaving some glitter behind. Hide-Zou glanced over his shoulder and sighed. This was one of the worst parties he’d ever been to. Too many couples, too many creepers (especially the nasty guy in the pimp suit that stared at his thigh in the same way that Ruiza looked at donuts), terrible music… at least the drinks were good.
As he waited for the fairy bartender to return, he again toyed with the idea of going home. Following through with his original plan of watching movies or playing video games in his pajamas. It’d be fun, and he could do either without the presence of his horny friends. Who were probably making out in some corner by now. At least they weren’t the type to fuck in public. Still, Hide-Zou would avoid the toilets like his life depended on it.
"Is anyone sitting next to you?"
“Huh?” Hide-Zou glanced up to see the gorgeous redhead from before. He was indicating the seat next to Hide-Zou, head tilted slightly. Realizing he was staring, Hide-Zou averted his eyes. “Oh, no. No one’s sitting there. Just you now.” He looked at the redhead again, swallowing as he saw him sitting down. The action made his tiny shorts ride up his smooth thighs. Sitting so close like this, Hide-Zou could see just how much skin the pirate costume showed off. “Nice costume,” he said. He wondered if they’d come from the same brand since red and gold were the primary colors of the costumes.
The redhead glanced over then smiled. “You too.”
Hide-Zou raised his empty beer bottle. “I guess pirates should stick together.”
The redhead laughed. “That’s true.” He stretched out his legs then called one of the bartenders over.
Hide-Zou blinked when he ordered a straight shot of vodka. “That’s… kind of strong.” Although, he’d been tempted to do the same thing after spending five minutes with Asagi and Ruiza. Traumatizing. He might need therapy.
“I just saw my ex,” the redhead replied, making a disgusted face. “And I’ve been fighting off every hand trying to grab my ass. I need a drink.”
“You do,” Hide-Zou agreed. So he had an ex-lover… but what about a current lover? Ugh, he shouldn’t even dream of it. The chances of someone so gorgeous being single were slim to none. “I take it your ex is horrible?”
The redhead nodded. “Very. I just hope he won’t recognize me in this costume if he does see me.” He sighed, glancing over his shoulder as he adjusted his shorts. He looked a little anxious. Was the ex some sort of creepy stalker?
Hide-Zou was distracted when the bartender set his gin and tonic in front of him. “Thank you.”
She nodded, promising to have the redhead’s drink out soon. Then turned to take another customer’s order.
“What does your ex look like? So I can warn you if he’s coming. I’m Hide-Zou by the way.”
The redhead gave him a small smile. “Tsunehito. And thank you, I’d appreciate that. He’s tall and dressed as the Grim Reaper. Short white wig, black robes, holding a scythe. Skull on his shoulder.”
“Sounds distinctive enough.” Hide-Zou sipped his drink then glanced around the club. No sign of the stalker ex. He hesitated, afraid of sounding too desperate, but he wanted to know. “So… did you come here alone?” He hadn’t seen the redhead talking to anyone when they’d been in line to get inside. And he looked a little sad. Which was understandable if he was busy fighting off creeps and avoiding his ex.
Tsunehito nodded. “I did. Probably a bad idea given what I decided to wear.” He plucked at his corset then gave Hide-Zou a wry smile. “But I felt like wearing my pirate costume.”
Hide-Zou gave him a sympathetic smile. “Someone as pretty as you in a costume like that is bound to attract creeps. No wonder you wanted vodka.” He grinned as the much-needed drink arrived. “And there it is. Maybe you’ll find someone here that won’t make you want vodka.” He watched as the redhead raised the shot to his lips. He gulped it down, coughed, then lowered the glass to the bar.
“I’ve found you.”
Hide-Zou was horrified to realize he was blushing. Why was he blushing? “Ah… you have.” Now he sounded like some awkward loser.
Instead of thinking he was pathetic, Tsunehito just smiled. “So did you come here alone too?”
“I came with my friends. They’re probably making out in a dark corner by now though.” Again, Hide-Zou was grateful that Asagi was far too shy to fuck in public. He picked up his drink and took another sip. “Other than that, I’m alone.”
Tsunehito leaned over. “Are you?”
“Mm.” Hide-Zou reached out to brush Tsunehito’s hair back. “This wig must be driving you crazy.”
Tsunehito laughed. “A little. It’s fun though… so different from my real hair. Are you wearing a wig too?”
Hide-Zou glanced down at his long hair. “Yeah, I’d go nuts if my hair was this long.” It’d be a pain to take care of and he’d probably shut it in his car too. He’d seen it happen to Asagi before. Hide-Zou smiled a little then held his hand up to his collarbones. “It’s about this long and the same color.”
“Mine’s a little longer.” Tsunehito ordered another drink when the bartender returned to check on them. This time, he ordered a beer.
“Oh good, no vodka.”
The redhead chuckled. “If you were obnoxious enough that I needed vodka, I wouldn’t be here. The beer is just an excuse to sit with you longer.”
Hide-Zou swallowed again. How bold did he dare to be? Tsunehito was clearly interested in him. Still, he didn’t want to push things too far. So instead of touching one of those soft-looking thighs like he wanted to, Hide-Zou brushed his fingers against Tsunehito’s gold necklace. On it were charms: a ship, a treasure chest, a ship’s wheel, a coin, and a rose. A ruby was positioned at the center of the necklace. “This is beautiful,” he said. “It suits your costume perfectly.”
Tsunehito glanced down. “Thank you. I bought it with the costume.” He leaned forward so it was easier for Hide-Zou to study the necklace. Hide-Zou lifted the necklace off of Tsunehito’s chest. It really was beautiful. Not as beautiful as its wearer though. Hide-Zou released the necklace, but didn’t draw back. He couldn’t resist trailing his fingers over that soft skin.
Hide-Zou blinked when Tsunehito touched his twin flag necklace. “Yours fits your costume too.” He gave the other man a playful smile as he touched his neck.
“That was the point.” He couldn’t help himself anymore. He laid his hand on Tsunehito’s thigh, slowly stroking skin that was just as soft as he’d imaged it to be. Suddenly, Hide-Zou was very grateful that he’d come to the party. He wouldn’t have met Tsunehito otherwise.
Tsunehito started to speak then froze. He blanched and ducked his head to hide beneath his hair. Hide-Zou wrinkled his nose when parts of the wig hit him in the face. Immediately, he draped a protective arm around Tsunehito’s thin shoulders. “Stalker ex?” he asked. It was the only logical reason that he’d hide.
The redhead nodded. “I saw him approaching the bar.” He shivered as he clutched the back of Hide-Zou’s costume.
Hide-Zou glanced back. The man who matched Tsunehito’s description of his ex looked like he spent more time in the gym than necessary. And looked like an ass. He watched the man approach the bar and order a drink. He looked around, eyes briefly falling on the hunched over Tsunehito. Then he turned back to the bar when his drink arrived. He left soon after. Gently, Hide-Zou rubbed Tsunehito’s back. He was so tense… maybe they should leave. Tsunehito was clearly uncomfortable here. And it wasn’t as if Hide-Zou had been enjoying himself earlier.
“Want to leave?” he asked. He gave Tsunehito a gentle smile when he straightened up. He wanted to spend more time with the redhead and would rather do so at a better location.
Tsunehito adjusted his wig. “You don’t want to stay?”
Hide-Zou grimaced. “I was thinking about leaving-until you arrived.”
The redhead grinned. “Let’s go then.” He finished his beer and started fishing out his money. He paused when Hide-Zou caught his wrist.
“I’ll pay.”
Tsunehito looked surprised. “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
“All right. Thank you.”
It was cool outside. And quiet-a welcome relief from the loud music and general noise of the club.
“So do you live in Tokyo?” Fuck. Awkward small talk. But he felt like he should know in case Tsunehito lived in Osaka or somewhere further away.
Tsunehito nodded. “I live in Ikebukuro.”
“Nice place to live.”
“Mm.”
Hide-Zou reached out to take his hand. “Have a fun job?”
“I’m a model.”
“You’re a model?” Hide-Zou blinked. “Wow, I’m lucky. I’ve never spoken to a model or had a drink with one."
"So you've never met a model before?"
"Not until now." Tsunehito was gorgeous so his profession came as no surprise. “What types of clothes do you model?” And was he a runway model or catalogue model? Hide-Zou was curious to know about Tsunehito’s life.
“Mostly gothic fashion. What about you, any fun jobs?”
Hide-Zou smirked as he brushed his bangs back. “I should be a model.” He knew he was handsome, and Asagi liked to tease him about his vanity. He laughed then shook his head. “I’m between jobs at the moment. I used to work at a guitar shop. My boss was an old pervert that kept offering me a raise if I’d let him fuck me. I got sick of the sexual harassment so quit.”
Tsunehito frowned. “You shouldn’t have paid for my drinks then.”
“They weren’t expensive.”
“Still!” The redhead gave him an exasperated look. Then he sighed softly as he squeezed Hide-Zou’s hand. “I’m sorry about your boss. I’ve had similar problems with lechers. Although, in my case, it’s usually photographers. Sometimes designers. I even made the mistake of getting too close to one of my photographers. We broke up last month… he’s the one I wanted to avoid at the bar. He’s been a nightmare.” Tsunehito sighed again. “Stalking me, harassing other photographers so he’d be the one shooting my pictures…” he grimaced, shaking his head. “Then he was at the party. Maybe he’ll leave me alone if I give him a black eye.”
Hide-Zou glanced at Tsunehito’s tiny frame. Would he be capable of doing so? Maybe. There was clearly some fire in him so he’d be able to deck the stalker ex. “You could wear these boots and kick him too.” The high platforms would surely be painful.
Tsunehito chuckled. “I could.” He raised his head to smile. “Thanks. I haven’t been able to relax like this in a while.”
“I’m glad.” Hide-Zou smirked. “You also saved me from possible trauma.”
“Your friends?”
He nodded. Asagi and Ruiza were probably still focused on each other. Hide-Zou really didn’t want to know what they were up to.
“So where do you want to go?” He asked. There was a park near the club. Or they could go to another bar. Would Tsunehito be comfortable doing so while in that outfit? Maybe he wouldn’t mind. He was a model after all so he probably wore less for photoshoots. Fuck. Now Hide-Zou’s mind was wandering in dirty directions. He wrapped his arm around Tsunehito’s waist and pressed him a little closer.
The redhead shrugged. “There’s a park nearby. Let’s go there.” He started walking, wig bouncing slightly with his steps. It was cute to watch. Especially since Tsunehito looked happier now.
“Let me know if you get cold.” Ugh, now he sounded as motherly as Asagi. He usually packed an extra jacket in case Ruiza got cold. Or food since Ruiza was always hungry. Always.
Tsunehito looked amused. “You’re warm so I’ll be fine. You don’t need to fuss over me.”
Hide-Zou heard the edge to his voice. It was clear that Tsunehito didn’t enjoy being fussed over. He would remember that. “All right.”
The park was deserted. There wasn’t much there, just a fountain with sakura trees nearby and some benches. Hide-Zou snickered as he saw the fountain. Oh the memories. At Tsunehito’s inquisitive look, he laughed and shook his head. “I er.. went swimming in this last year. When I was very drunk.”
Tsunehito smirked. “Sounds unpleasant.”
“It was,” Hide-Zou laughed. “Have a worse experience?”
“A few months ago, I was drunk and had the bright idea to test my balance by walking the ledge around a fountain.” Tsunehito made a face. “I was wearing white and fell in… not fun. My clothes were soaked through”
Oh Hide-Zou would have liked to see that. "Fountains and alcohol are a dangerous combination. Let's agree on that."
Tsunehito laughed. “Agreed.” He pulled Hide-Zou to one of the benches then sat down. They shifted to sit hip to hip, closer than when they were at the bar.
Hide-Zou’s hand brushed Tsunehito’s thighs. “You have beautiful legs.”
“So do you,” the redhead replied. Hide-Zou wasn’t showing much thigh but it was still enough. And Tsunehito obviously liked it since he smoothed his fingers over Hide-Zou’s exposed thigh. He shifted closer to slide his arms around Hide-Zou’s neck, pulling him in for a kiss. Such soft lips… Hide-Zou kissed him back. His hands fell back to Tsunehito’s thighs, caressing them while kissing the beautiful redhead. He broke the kiss when he had to breathe, panting softly as he smiled at Tsunehito. He hadn’t planned to meet anyone tonight but he was glad he had.
*
Hide-Zou watched Tsunehito walk down the ledge of the small garden, carefully putting one foot in front of the other. It didn’t seem like a smart idea-especially after their conversation about drinks and fountains. Hide-Zou wouldn’t stop the redhead though.
“So am I allowed to fuss over you if you fall?” he asked.
“You should catch me instead of fussing.”
Hide-Zou laid his hand on Tsunehito’s back when he stopped walking. His fingers bushed the redhead’s bare waist, and he gave him a playful smile. “So I can catch you but no fussing?”
“Yes.”
"All right." He was learning what Tsunehito did and didn’t like. No fussing or treating him like he was fragile. He did love ice cream though. Hide-Zou had watched him demolish a towering ice cream cone earlier. He couldn’t resist taking a picture since everyone said that models didn’t eat. Now he had proof that they did. Laughing, Tsunehito had told him that some models were like that. Not him though.
Hide-Zou blinked when his phone rang. He pulled it out to see Asagi was calling. He’d managed to take his hands off Ruiza long enough to call? Impressive. Ugh, Asagi probably had one hand on Ruiza while the other was on the phone. Nasty visual.
“Hey, Asagi,” Hide-Zou said. “Still attached to Rui-chan?”
Asagi huffed in response. “Where are you?”
“I’m at-” Hide-Zou trailed off when he heard a crash and then cursing. Tsunehito was on the ground, rubbing his right ankle. “I have to go!” He hung up then rushed to the redhead. “Are you all right?” he crouched next to Tsunehito, looking at his ankle.
Tsunehito blew his bangs aside. “I heard you talking so glanced back and wasn’t paying attention to my feet.” He sighed. “I’m all right though.”
“You sure?” Hide-Zou took Tsunehito’s hand and helped him up The redhead wobbled, grasping Hide-Zou’s arm for support while shifting to keep his right foot off the ground. “You’re not all right,” he said dryly. “I’m adding balancing in platform boots to our list of dangers.” He wrapped a supportive arm around Tsunehito’s waist. “Should we sit for a while?”
“I can walk.” Tsunehito rotated his ankle then set his foot down. Immediately, he winced and pulled the foot off the ground. “Maybe not.”
Hide-Zou rubbed his back. “Do you live nearby?” His apartment was a few stops away from the train station. If Tsunehito lived closer, it’d be better to go there.
“It’s the next station over. Then a six minute walk.”
“Let’s go there so you can sit.” Hide-Zou released Tsunehito and crouched down. He pulled his hair over his shoulder so the wig wouldn’t get pulled off. “I’ll carry you home. Don’t protest,” he warned. “You won’t get far by hobbling.”
“Are you sure?”
Hide-Zou glanced back to see the redhead looking unsure. “I wouldn’t have offered if I didn’t mean it. And I’m stronger than I look.”
“Well… okay then.” Tsunehito limped over so he could climb onto Hide-Zou’s back. He was light so carrying him wouldn’t be a problem at all. Hide-Zou hooked his arms under Tsunehito’s knees, making sure the redhead was holding on before he started walking. “Sorry,” Tsunehito apologized.
Hide-Zou patted his knee. “Don’t worry about it.”
*
Even though Tsunehito tried to insist that he could walk, Hide-Zou didn’t believe him. He carried the redhead to the door of his apartment, finally putting him down so Tsunehito could unlock it. Once he was on his feet, Hide-Zou watched Tsunehito closely to see if the right ankle would hold his weight. It seemed to do so, even though he was a little unsteady.
Tsunehito pulled out his key. “I’m sorry about my apartment,” he apologized, giving Hide-Zou a sheepish look. “It’s… kind of a mess. I haven’t had the time to finish unpacking and cleaning.”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Once inside, it was clear that Tsunehito still had some unpacking to do. Boxes and shoes filled the entryway with some jackets draped over the boxes. It wasn’t as messy as Tsunehito made it out to be though.
Hide-Zou removed his boots then turned to the redhead. “Maybe you should sit on one of the boxes so I can help you with your boots.” Tsunehito’s ankle might be sprained or swollen from the fall. If so, Hide-Zou didn’t want him struggling with the boot. It would only cause him more pain.
Tsunehito shook his head. “I can get my boots off myself.” He gave Hide-Zou a look that made it clear that he was fussing too much.
Hide-Zou sighed, deciding not to protest. Tsunehito was stubborn so there was no point in fighting him. The redhead leaned down to unzip his boots. He wobbled when slipping off the left boot since his right foot had to take all his weight. Hide-Zou quickly steadied him, fingers brushing his side. Hide-Zou was already addicted to Tsunehito’s soft skin. He watched the redhead struggle to get the boot off.
“Sure you don’t want help?”
“I think… my ankle is swollen.” Tsunehito cursed then sat down on a box. He held his foot out, looking annoyed. His grumpy pout was too adorable. Hide-Zou crouched down in front of him and loosened the bootlaces. Then he slowly began to ease the boot off of Tsunehito’s foot. Once it was off, he could see that Tsunehito’s ankle was a little swollen.
“Thanks.” The redhead sighed then made a face as he studied his ankle. “Sorry. I know this… isn’t what you were expecting.”
Hide-Zou kissed him gently. “I didn’t know what to expect so don’t worry.”
Tsunehito smiled a little. “I guess so. I think I’ll change and take my makeup off. I have some clothes if you want to borrow something comfortable to wear.”
“…You sure it’ll fit?” Hide-Zou wasn’t fat but he wasn’t a tiny model either.
The question made Tsunehito chuckle. “Yes.” He reached up to remove his wig. He looked so much smaller with it off. Hide-Zou was surprised to find that Tsunehito’s actual hair wasn’t red like his wig. It was jet black and looked like an army of pins was keeping it flat against his skull. He’d gotten so used to seeing Tsunehito as a redhead that it was strange to see him with black hair.
“Your hair,” Hide-Zou blinked as he reached out to touch it. “I thought you were a redhead.”
Tsunehito shook his head. “Nope, my hair is black.” He started pulling out the pins. Once he’d taken the last one out, he combed his fingers through his hair to give it some volume. Hide-Zou finally stopped staring at his hair. He looked good with black hair. Tsunehito was so gorgeous that he could surely pull off any hair color.
He gathered up the pins then carefully got up. “So, want to wear something else or should we be pirates for the rest of the night?”
“Hm…” Hide-Zou pretended to think. “I don’t think it’d be comfortable to sleep in.”
“Probably not.”
“Let’s get changed then.” Hide-Zou wrapped a supportive arm around Tsunehito again. He was worried they’d need to take him to the doctor, but he should probably wait and see how Tsunehito’s ankle was in the morning. Or later tonight. It was clear that he’d be staying here for the night so he’d find out if Tsunehito’s ankle was feeling later.
Notes
1) This is probably the only Hide-Zou x Tsunehito fic I'll write. I adore them and I think they have amazing chemistry but... I just didn't enjoy writing this as much as I would enjoy writing Asagi x Tsunehito. I can't resist the OTP!
2) My goal is to have Chapter Two: The Second Night (creative I know) done so I can post it next Friday.
