And you suck for turning this into a far better story than I did! :P Glad to be a bit of inspiration, though.

Seriously, nice job. I really like the end bit with Jason. His musing is very realistic.

My only criticism is shortening "Thomas" to "Thom" is a bit odd for me - it took me a second to parse that. But then, I know a lot of "Toms" so that's probably where that comes in as a bias.

hmm, must be a cultural thing as i've seen "Thom" as a common truncation of "Thomas" (either that or i hang with a whole buncha eccentric people). and thank you for the story-seed - these characters are so disparate, mashing them together is a bit of a toss-up

I like it. I like it best because of the way Thom views the other two. I haven't read the previous stuff, but, this stood well as an independent fragment.

I always feel a little like I'm reading from Gravity's Rainbow when I read your writing. I think it's something in the syntax, the flow of your thoughts. Whatever it is, I enjoyed this. Nice job integrating everyone!
