my little intro

Name: Morgan

Age: 21

Writing Experience: When I was about 2, my mom gave me some crayons and some paper with the intention of having me draw her a picture. I returned with a five page "story" (scribbles in straight lines, actually) and told her that I thought she might enjoy a story a little more than a picture; that was my first attempt at being a top-notch storytelling genius and it wasn't the last. I've been writing ever since.

Preferred Genres: (Poetry? Fantasy short stories? Non-Fiction?) I used to write a lot of historical fiction until I realized how much I hated researching the norms and customs of a particular society during a specific point in time. Blah! I found it was much easier to write stories based on what I could make up in my own head, so I rather stumbled accidentally into the Fantasy genre out of... laziness? However, inventing a world and norms and customs is a little harder than researching one that already existed, especially when things you have to make things consistent and believable. I don't mind, actually, except I tend to miss out on a lot of class notes and important pieces of conversation trying to mentally make puzzle pieces fit. Oh well, it's what I do.
NOTE: When it comes to reading I'm more of a Fiction fan, to be perfectly honest. The only Fantasy that I've actually read has been Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and Brian Jacques's Chronicles of Redwall.

Education: In college and almost finished.

Country: US

What do you hope to get from this community? Confidence, maybe? I'm not exactly sure, but maybe I'll stop being so [violently] possessive about my work. I'm a little bit of the "OMGDONTLOOK!!! IT'S NOT DONE YET!!!! A POX ON YOU!!!!" kind of person when people try to look at what I've written. It's my baby and I'm the only one allowed to hold it.

Where did you hear of us? Just a random search.
