[She's taken stock of new dronings. She's counted her losses. She's almost ready to post the tournament bracket. She's met with Prussia and Fritz, and now... Now there's only one thing left to do. She shuffles away the folder marked "Westport", and begins to make the call.]

[Joshua isn't usually the type to get himself directly involved in these sort of things; he prefers to remain in the background while other people do the work for him. But it's been nearly four months since he last saw Shibuya, and being completely cut off from her Music has made him a little antsy. Without all of his powers, he knows full well that he can't get home by himself, and he's willing to take a risk if it means getting him one step closer to jacking this town. And at any rate, it'll be good to gather information on what people are planning. He can decide on whether to join them later.

So he'll be slipping in the door, whistling lowly at the preparations she's made.]

Olivier Armstrong, I presume?

Yes. [She glances up--you're new.]

And you are?

Joshua. [He glances around the room, a wry quirk to his lips.] So I gather that what I've been hearing about a resistance is true, then.

Completely true. And I'd prefer to be called "Major General Armstrong" from here on. This is war.

I hardly think arbitrary titles given out in other worlds matter that much here, wartime or not. But if you insist. I don't suppose you'd let me in on what you're planning?

It keeps people in their place; no one needs to try to take more responsibility for this right now than I am.

If you're willing to help, I'll let you know everything.

Fair enough. Though if the town decides to punish people for trying to rise up against it, I doubt they'll only go after you simply because you insist on having a title.

Sorry, but I'm not about to blindly sign up for a plan I haven't even heard yet. If I feel like you have some chance of success with whatever you're doing and that I can bolster that chance, then we'll see.

No, but I'd like to keep up appearances. At any rate; we're attacking city hall, and a few other targets. The goal is distraction, so we can infiltrate another site.

Which other sites? I'm assuming that the police station is one of them. Are you going after the Postman or the Milkman as well?

We haven't decided yet.

Sounds like you need to work a little more on this plan before you start asking people to pitch in, hee hee. One more question, then. The people who you're going to use for the distraction - what do you think will happen to them?

...I'm not telling you everything; you're a child. Why should I even trust you and your undeveloped mind with my plan?

They'll die. They'll know this in advance.

If you can't trust who you're working with, there's no reason why they should trust you in return. And children can sometimes see further than adults - they're less restrained with their Imagination.

For the greater good, is it? I'll be interested in seeing how many volunteers you can draft using that premise.

...I've been in this place for six months. There is absolutely no reason why anyone here should trust me implicitly. I'm relying on my strength of character and the soundness of the plan to get people involved. If you don't want to be a part of it, get out and start hunkering down in your house--it's not going to be fun.

I'm sure I'll get enough people. Most of them understand the value of the task at hand. A distraction of the major force here is required to get us into where we need to go.

Don't try to outsmart me, child.
